I was wondering if anyone had any patterns for a 1-2 size girl?  I've had a look on ravelry but the only things I've found I like are knitted in the round.  The yarn I have is 4ply but can't say any more than that as I no longer have the band.  I have about 150 grams of yarn. Thanks
Refine your search on Ravelry to look at patterns published by Trove for fingering weight/4-ply yarn.  Trove is a digital archive of newspapers and magazines held by the National Library of Australia.  The patterns are free.

What is your problem with knitting in the round?  I love it because it means less seaming up (my pet hatred).  I can give you tips, if you need them.

    - Pip
I don't have an issue knitting in the round, just don't have the tools 😂
That’s easier to fix. :)  I was wondering if, like my friend’s mum, your technique would make knitting-in-the-round difficult.  (She clamps her ?right needle under her arm.  Can’t knit with circulars at all.).

Did you try the Trove patterns?  Any luck?

Im still only knitting socks as Im using up lots of small bits of sock wool I have, they are all very different and odd! so I will remember and wear them as my covid19 socks!!! Im looking forwards to trying to knit a jumper in the round and cant wait to get to my local wool shop. Im still doing the sampler, I have so little to do to complete it that a couple of hours work is all it needs, but my heart just isn't in it so its on the back burner for the moment.

In a fit of ?madness? last night, I ripped out an almost entirely knitted sock.  I only had the toe left to do.  The reason?  The yarn is no longer manufactured and I have 60 grams of it.  When I went to try the sock on - testing for length - I found the end were I'd joined the new ball was over a metre long!  I can't afford to do that.

It was only when I got back to the join, that I remembered I'd alternated rows to ensure there wasn't a stripe when the colour changed.  (They're (probably) different dye lots.) Too late now.  I have frogged all the way to cast on and will start again.  This time, I'll just join when I get to it and not worry about the change in dye lots.

    <sigh >

Ooooh Pip, that's a bit close, just 60g! My socks take nearer 65g, so are you making two together?  You could do the toes with different wool if you were running short. Or maybe make them a bit shorter? Or do you have smaller feet than my size 5's!?

    No, @MrsCD, I take a size 5 too.  :)

My average is 63g per pair for me, so I'm making the legs a little shorter; 61 rounds instead of my usual 68.  The yarn was discontinued a while back - it's Regia Angora Merino 4-ply sock - and it's impossible to find any in black.  (I'm using black.)  If I get really desperate, I have 10 grams in pink to do toes.

'Angora Merino' that sounds heavenly <3 It must make wonderful socks - I don't ever remember seeing that. Mind you I did have to exclude myself from looking at any more sock wool, the stash doth overflow with the stuff :)

I have one pair mum knitted where one of the toes is in a different colour.

Out of interest, do you knit two at a time? I'm not sure I can be bothered to work out how to do that, especially as I have one pattern which fits me perfectly. I need to find it to do my socks, but I'm using a different pattern to knit a friend's pair.

    Hello all,
My long scarf continues but I'm at the point of boredom with it, so yesterday I finished off a 'CupCake Cup Cosy Sleeve' as a quick knit, and a friend has enquired about ordering some of my cotton body buffs. Will work out a price to charge her for those today, and get started. They're pretty quick too so will also help break up the monotony of seed stitch scarf.

Next up I may attempt another plant....

I'm in awe of people making all these socks with the skinny yarns!

@Savvy_Sue - I don't knit socks two at a time, but that's mainly because a) I usually do them on 6 inch DPNs and b) on the odd occasion when I've been forced to knit from both ends of a ball at the same time, it's been a nightmare.  I do knit sleeves in the round, two at a time on a long circular needle.

I've been known to cannibalise the toe of a sock, in order to "feed" the knitting of the other, until I can get them both the same length, then knit the remainder of the foot on both socks in a different yarn.

It is lovely and soft, @judexx.   It's been out of manufacture for quite a while, so I doubt you'll find any for sale, even if you looked.  I bought the original yarn (black) in 2013 to make gift socks.  When I bought the pink in 2014, it was not possible to find any more black on sale commercially.  (The pink yarn also got knitted into gifts.)

    - Pip  (I think the lesson is: don't make snap decisions to frog something when you're tired.  I've been knitting these socks since January.  They usually live in my handbag and only get knitted on when I'm a passenger in a car/bus/train or stuck in a waiting room.  At this rate, I'll be knitting the second sock at Christmas.)
