Oohhh.... Do share the jumper pattern, @catherinekate. I have knitted vintage jumpers that used 200g-250g, but nothing quite that low. Does it use 2-ply or 3-ply weight yarn? (For a while Regia did 3-ply sock yarn, “3-faedig”. It went for miles. I knitted 4 pairs of adult socks out of 100g, including a pair for my husband.)catherinekate said:I have found another pattern for a jumper which again claims to use only 150g wool so will be trying again!
Nannygladys the sampler sounds lovely. I had a schoolfriend who had a sampler on her wall and I always wanted one myself. I was delighted when a friend sent one for my baby.
Savvy_Sue, love the flowers. I am planning to knit some for my Advent wreath (it will take me that long I suspect!). Maybe poinsettias.

Hello knitters.
I don't knit much, usually baby cardigans, but I seem to have more free time than usual atm, and I found a pattern in Prima for a polo top which I'm knitting for DD. Just wanted to share!

Ditto. Excellent advice. Always check the yardage of the specified yarn to ensure you have at least enough, if not more. In addition, if I’m knitting a jumper - or something that is graded for sizes - I’ll also check out the number of balls for my size and whether the next size up has more specified. If so, I’ll buy an extra ball regardless of whether I’m substituting or using the yarn specified. If not, I won’t bother unless I need the additional yardage.wondercollie said:
I've learnt to ignore the weight and check the yardage/metres in the ball. Gives me a better idea of how close I might be.catherinekate said:I have found another pattern for a jumper which again claims to use only 150g wool so will be trying again!

I knit a shawl that called for 1200 metres in the specified yard but used 1400 of the yarn I substituted.

The brown mitred squared blanket is stunning and having frogged my own mitred Square blanket I know just how much work is in there.
I'm finishing up a raglan DK cardigan. Should the fit be to my liking I will be casting on the exact same Albini cardigan in Jacobs non-superwash.
I'm enjoying non complicated knits at at the moment. My mind isn't able to concentrate like it used to just now. Is anyone else finding that they're gravitating to easier knits during this awful time?1 -
Yes. Not that I usually do anything terribly complicated, usually knit while watching TV so don't want to be thinking about it too hard.herlig said:I'm enjoying non complicated knits at at the moment. so I've done a load of roses, a load of hearts and even an ear-saver the other day, but have gone back to my friend's socks. I will probably do some more of the quick'n'easy knits before long, but once I know the pattern off by heart I get bored ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I'm deliberately learning as many knew stitch patterns as I can. I have skipped 2, one I think is an error in the pattern and the other I will just sit quiet and learn it even if I have to do more to get it right. The first two rows have been done but I know I must sit quiet when I am not expecting any deliveries. Think best time will be early afternoon when DD is likely to be out walking and DS is at work. I'm totally lost if I get interrupted. I don't want to be beaten by this one. I have run out of things to watch on TV.

I was wondering if anyone had any patterns for a 1-2 size girl? I've had a look on ravelry but the only things I've found I like are knitted in the round. The yarn I have is 4ply but can't say any more than that as I no longer have the band. I have about 150 grams of yarn. ThanksDid owe £9,951.96

Refine your search on Ravelry to look at patterns published by Trove for fingering weight/4-ply yarn. Trove is a digital archive of newspapers and magazines held by the National Library of Australia. The patterns are free.
What is your problem with knitting in the round? I love it because it means less seaming up (my pet hatred). I can give you tips, if you need them.
