Plum - both scarves are lovely, I think that "yours" is my favourite though.
I am still not sure which cowl I will knit with my Colinette, not being helped by the fact that we need a printer asap. I have though found out my Knit-Pro circulars, will try and go through them and see if there are any gaps, in readiness. In the meantime I am making a little charity knit T shaped jumper, note to self, write down the next set of instructions:eek:The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Hi again, Howmuch - in the past I have tried wearing mohair over
t-shirts etc but if even one row of mohair touches my skin it drives me mad. I have two polo necks (one black and one grey) and thought a jade waistcoat over the polo necks would be nice and cosy especially if worn with black/grey trousers. When I was working I wore a uniform during the day and old lazing about clothes at night. Now I'm retired I do need more warm and comfortable clothes for during the day.
Lynseydee, I do like that pattern as well and the rib pattern means the wrong side looks good as well. It's a really easy 4 row pattern although I had to google how to knit SSK. Here's the pattern if anyone wants to have a go - cast on a multiple of 5 + 2, I cast on 32 sts.
1) K2 *P3, K2* to end
2) P2 *K1, YO, SSK, P2* to end
3) as first row
4) P2 *K2 TOG, YO, K1, P2* to end
A 70" long scarf in chunky yarn took 300 yards of wool. I've knitted it in DK weight as well and it still looks good.
Just finished the body and sleeves of the pink cardi for dgd so just going to do button bands and neckband.
Happy knitting xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Thanks Maddiemay, I am always changing lengths and stitches etc then when doing the other side I would forget what I did with the first side. Now I have an A5 notebook in my knitting bag. Each time I start knitting I note the pattern size I am following and the needle size I'm using. My tension when knitting is really loose so I always have to change my needle sizes. This saves me loads of time when I pick up my knitting and know exactly what I'm doing.Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Several of my K&N friends use a notebook kept just for knitting, then if they want to knit the pattern/yarn/or a version of the pattern again they can look back, I haven't been so organised and usually end up with scraps of paper which then get lots:eek: I do have a lovely knitters notebook/log which I have never used, it should be in the room of doom (spare room) or the eaves space where I store my craft stuff - job for this week then:D:The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Morning all
Welcome maddie ay, lovely to 'see' you on this thread.
Hope everyone is well.
Busy weekend as it was DGS first birthday party and I had some sewing to do I'm promised other people but I did manage to get 21 instant smoothie hats finished and sewn up plus I finally got my first ever sock finished and it was on dpns.
Plan to start the second one tonight.SPC~12 ot 124
In a world that has decided that it's going to lose its mind, be more kind my friend, try to Be More Kind0 -
I have been delving in the wardrobe and the room of doom and will start to list my ufo's/wip's/long abandoned projects:o
Fingerless gloves, blue/foxglove in Lang cashmere tweed, seem to just need casting off and sewing up, mattress stitch practice imminent?
Fingerless gloves for OH in a black handspun, he changed jobs and didn't need them, I made a mistake and shoved them in a corner, horridly small needle = lots of pain, so might try and find a home for them at K&N
2 novelty yarn scarves/mini shawls which need embellishments adding and perhaps a crochet row to firm up the edges
Tea cosy, came up too small, but now have a dinky little teapot so might fit that.
Aran weight cardi for me in some gorgeous slubby Debbie Bliss yarn, will probably be too big now, not sure if I want to sew it up and see or frog it and knit something smaller.
Striped cardi for me in Sublime Extra fine merino dk, not quite sure why this got put on one side, but it is so lovely I must try and finish it.
Sweater for me in King Cole Bamboozle, the prettiest thick and thin slub yarn in yummy colours, but a complete beggar to
construct, as the edges are not straight because to the vast difference in the yarn thickness, a friend at K&N who is a vastly experienced knitter has thrown hers into a corner in disgust, to be looked at again sometime, she will not give up, will I? remains to be seen:rotfl:
What does the above tell me? I probably have more money than sense, am a starter not a finisher/butterfly flitting from one project to the next!, think I will stop there before it gets too uncomfortable:o
I will save this list and endeavour to deal with some of these things and report back.
P.S. not guaranteeing that forays into the eaves will not turn out more surprises:(The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Can I join in? I'm not much of a knitter but I love to crochet and have a stash of wool that I really must work on reducing before I buy more (damn you Aldi and your special buys!!)
I can't seem to see a crochet thread anywhere. Please tell me if I've missed it!Light bulb moment Feb 2014! Total debt then £17,497.64
Current debt £8121.16.
Expected debt free date Aug 2030 with current plan but I will beat that date, I had to adjust it due to a drop in wages0 -

Maddie I had 12 knit projects on the go at one point and most had been abandonned at some time or another...... I made 2016 my finishing off and using up year and suprisingly it feels really good! Although I am now all finished up knitting wise (crochet and x stitch a totaly different kettle of fish) and working on new projects I am trying to finish an item before i start something new..... Not good when I'm knitting something I'm not enjoying and it feels like hard work not pleasure
Don't you hate it when your colours/wool/pattern mix just doesn't compare to how you pictured it in your head!
