I've finished the 3rd quarter of my afghan! :j

At approx. 45min per square and 36 squares per quarter, I should be done with the final quarter in about 30 hours. Plus another 10 hours (or more?) putting them all together and stitching a border.

I did lay out the quarters on the bed upstairs to make sure the colour scheme was working and it's definitely big enough. :D

Hi I did post on this thread a few times last year but it just petered out.

Since then I have just subscribed to the threads I post on so I don't very often look at the list.

Had to stay in today to wait for a parcel for DS. He woke me at 7 so I have lots of time as no idea when it was coming. He was at work at 8am. Daren't put on headphones and watch TV or YouTube videos for fear of missing the parcel.

Have been reading this thread for hours while sewing up a jumper. I would like to join you again.

plumduff55 you have accomplished some knitting since you retired. Did you know knitting is exercise.

We moved in January to a new flat so we decorated it in December. The exercise for that made me lose about four pounds. I stopped knitting because of packing and I have not unpacked my stash or wips.

I was on the last sleeve of the jumper I have just sewn up. I did not want to unpack the rest so I have not been knitting. I have put the 4 pounds back on.

    Welcome Back Nursemaggie!

I've finished knitting the 4ply matinee jacket and cast on the matching bonnet last night. Missy H has a friend over today so no knitting as of yet but we made bath bombs and other bits instead!

what is everyone else working on?

Well done on finishing the matinee jacket Mary, I knitted a couple of instant smoothie hats last night as we were watching a film and I wanted something easy I didn't need to think about.

Hope all are well, you certainly all sound busy.

Hi everyone, I have recently finished 2 scarves, one for myself and one to put by for a Xmas present. I did say I was going to knit myself something next but have started another bright pink chunky cardigan for dgd.

My dil and grandchildren visited me today and I am just kicking myself as I forgot to try slipover on dgs to see if it would go over his head. I do love it when they come to visit but am always sad when they leave as I shall not see them again for another couple of weeks. The wee one especially changes each time I see him. He had major heart surgery when he was born last June and it makes me so happy to see him thriving.

I take my hat off to all you knitters who persevere with 3 and 4 ply wool. I do not have the patience to knit with anything finer than double knitting :rotfl:

Welcome back Nurse Maggie, I so enjoy being retired and do get plenty exercise knitting BUT I am obviously not energetic enough when knitting as I have not lost any weight.

I have my craft group tomorrow afternoon and will take the pink cardi to knit.

    Happy knitting everyone xx

I have that pattern MaryH and did some for DGS they are unisex so will come in the the new baby. I've just got the back to do on the dress, front and 2 sleeves completed. I've started the back last night but today is childcare day for DGS from 7.30 to 6 so I should get an hour or so in tonight. I have the pattern in my head so will knit faster.
