Hi, I also think mattress stitch gives the best finish but I prefer back stitch as it's easier. I always use mattress stitch for shoulder seams which are more visible. Hope this helps.Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order

Hi everyone, it is a beautiful sunny day here today. So, instead of knitting this afternoon I will go out and tidy the garden for the first time this year.
I have photographed two baby girl outfits I've just finished. These are just being put by as a couple of my friends have grand babies ( is this a word ?? ) due later in the year.

I have a lovely brown flecked dk that I think will make a beautiful tank top or grandad cardigan for a baby:D Like you Plum I'm building up my stock pile for all the hoards of friends that are having babies later this year...... They have certainly had a busy xmas/new year thats for sureLiving in a superhero induced haze :A:A

Thanks Mary, hope you're getting on with your giraffes. I have started knitting a scarf for myself. I bought the wool last week at the craft exhibition, it's mulberry coloured Rowan all seasons chunky and I grabbed 3 balls at the low price of £1 each. It's to wear with a black coat that has the same colour of lining and collar.

Plum the 2 sets are lovely, I did those little flowers and put 3 really tiny buttons in the middle in 3 different shades. I got hundreds for a £1 or so from China off eBay. The 2nd picture I did that set for DD and she's 32 this year, I did in white and lemon before she was born then again in pink after. I also think there was and Angel top on the pattern too and also did that.
Well the baby bunting is all knitted and I've just the collar and button to out in tomorrow.
Mary the giraffe is so amazing I want to learn to crochet especially if new grandchild due in August is a girl. XWhy pay full price when you may get it YS0 -

Thanks Howmuch and Mrs M. Many years ago when I was pregnant with twins ( they're 35 now) I totally scunnered myself knitting white baby cardigans and to date I very rarely knit with white wool for babies. I know white is beautiful on babies but I just hate knitting white. No scans telling sex of babies in those days
I had a boy and girl so always knitted everything in blue and pink. I now always have baby outfits in both colours ready to gift whenever the baby is born.
I knitted one ball o wool last night so reckon scarf is only going to be about 48" long plus fringe. A bit shorter than I'd like but it'll have to do.

DD has gone for her scan today but we are not finding out the sex of the baby, I'm hoping for a girl as we've already got DGS who will be almost 4 by the time the baby arrives. We'll get what we're given us what DD says but I want to knit frills and dresses. I was having a look at the free patterns on loveknitting.com, there's a lovely little girls cardii with cherries on I'd love to knit.
My next project will be a cable jumper for DGS I've printed the pattern off ready and I've plenty of wool in my stash. xWhy pay full price when you may get it YS0 -
Hi all, I'm having a bit of a destash and just thought I'd let you know on here too. I'm selling sweater quantities of Drops Nepal, Drops Lima and Sirdar Click DK with wool. If any of you would like any information just let me know!
Hi- could I ask what shade you have ( if any left ) of the SIrdar Click please?0 -
I'm heading out to Knit and knatter today and hoping to get the little cardigan finished that I started yesterday. I've got 8ish rows of the body to do then just the sleeves to knit up. My arms ache like mad today
thinking to just "knit it out" maybe the best option :rotfl:
