I`m getting to the end of my ravelry cardi, just a few more rows for the front overlap and that is it, it has been a nice easy knit . I had to stop for now as hands feel swollen but have been very busy doing heavy work outside, so to be expected
Next project has to be stash busting and I need a small bedside rug for my bedroom. I have quite a bit of left over hand spun grey corriedale and same amount of cream romney so obvious answer is large needles, loose knitting and oversize rug, which I will then machine wash and felt. Its going to take me years to get through my stash0 -
Thanks Mary, I'm hoping that by writing my list on here I WILL finish these things before going on to other more exciting projects.
I got granddaughter's jumper sewn up this afternoon. That is a job I hate and I will have knitting all finished and waiting months for me to sew it up. So I'm happy I got that done
I knitted my 5 year old grandson a hoodie for Xmas and he absolutely loves it. Glad I knitted in a dark colour ( black with bronze fleck) as it will not show the dirt as easily and he wants to wear it every day !!!

Hi all :j
Lovely to hear of all the knitting going on towards next years' gifts etc - that's what I SHOULD be doing!!
However, I got out my WIP - a jumper for me - that I stashed before Christmas. It should be fairly easy, it's plain in the body, but the sleeves are patterned, in sort of travelling cables IYKWIM....but do you think I can do them?? No I can't....there is a chart that you are supposed to follow, similar to a fairisle chart. Finding that tricky, I wrote out the 24-row pattern longhand, thinking that would help. It hasn't, but I know if I leave it now I will never finish it.....grrrr. Not sure how or why I am finding it so tricky - maybe as you have to work in the increases as well - but will keep slogging away at it LOL..New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Hope you get the pattern sorted sashanut, it really frustrating when something like that happens. Do you have a friend or reLly who's a knitter that you can just show it to, another pair of eyes looking with you may help resolve the problem.
Currently working on prem baby hats for local hospital to use little odd balls of baby yarn up in the hope of clearing some stash.SPC~12 ot 124

Hi Sashanut, if you really can't do it and no-one to help you, what about changing the cable pattern on the sleeves to something easier.
I have a little book called the Good Housekeeping, Traditional Knitting. Pocket guide to over 80 patterns. It gives instructions for lacy and cable patterns that can be incorporated into any knitting. I bought mines in a CS and friend bought one from eBay after borrowing mines.
Hope this helps xxDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Hi all, I think I posted on this thread way back, but I've picked up my needles again and joined a knitting group. I'm knitting discloths at the moment and a plain cardigan for myself. We've been asked to make twiddlemuffs too for the hospital so I'll have a go at those next.
I trying to use up my wool stash without buying anything until it's gone down, I bought so much lovely wool cheap from kemps years ago, but with no plans for it so didn't plan how many balls to buy so now have to look for patterns that suit what I have0 -
Hi everyone, can't believe it but I've finished the Aran shawl collar jumper for youngest grandson already. I have 49g of wool left so am going to knit a beanie to go with the jumper. I will wait till I've finished the hat then sew them up together. These are being put by for Xmas presents.

You're right Mary, there's no stopping me now. I used to have problems with my right shoulder and thought my knitting caused it. But it must have been work 'cos I'm knitting more than ever now and my shoulder is fine.
Now I'm retired I stay up later knitting and also ( hate to admit to this) I watch the Chanel 5 film in the afternoon whilst knitting.
I should have little hat finished tomorrow then on to next project
