    Whats everyone else working on?

2016 WILL be the year I clear my over sized yarn stash!

    Mrs H x

MrsH, love the sound of your hat and wrist warmer set, I did a hat and shaft in sock yarn last year, it looked lovely.

I'm hoping to clear my stash as well this year, there is just too much of it.:o

Currently working on a crocheted baby blanket in pink soya yarn, I got 10x50grm balls for a bargain price at the carboot last summer, I'm currently on the last ball so almost finished.

  • Hello all, hope I can join you :)

I'm really bad for starting projects and not finishing them... at the minute I have on the go a cardigan for myself that I started when I was pregnant (my baby is now 7 months old and it nearly reaches the small of my back - I might finish it by the time she's 5!). It's a gorgeous soft grey and I know it'll be really cosy when it's done so hopefully I can do it justice.

I'm also making a super chunky laptop case for my partner (which is the most boring knit ever so I keep putting it aside!) and last night I started a cardigan for the baby. I've gone for a 12 month sized-one so hopefully I'll finish it in time! I picked up some lovely bright coloured aran cotton in the January sales; cherry red, bright orange, and orangey-yellow, so I think it'll be lovely once it's done :)

The soya yarn feels really nice and it's not splitting or anything like that. I'm finding it really nice to work with. Thank you.

I've branched out from knitting for grandsons and am doing an Aran sweater for myself.

Just finished the front, ready to start the first sleeve.

Hi. I'm nearly finished purple cardi for granddaughters birthday next week - I just have to knit the front bands. The pattern is for bands you knit and then sew on but I'm going to pick up the stitches. I must check to see if I have purple buttons.

I knitted grandson a black flecked aran hoodie for Xmas. I went to wrap it 2 days before Xmas and shock horror discovered I had sewed on navy buttons instead of black. I then had a mad rush into town on xmas eve to buy black buttons. That'll teach me to check button colours in daylight lol.

I bough some dk yarn yesterday, it's got sequins in it and only cost £1 per ball. I'm going to quickly knit a fingerless glove tonight and if it's ok I will buy more yarn on Friday and put by for doing more xmas presents later in the year.

    Happy knitting xx

    Evening Everyone,

I am currently knitting socks, for some reason they are taking forever. I am not normally this slow i dont understand it. I guess life must be getting in the way.

    Happy knitting folks

    regards

  • Hi, I tried knitting fingerless gloves with dk yarn with sequins in it and it hasn't worked. It looks lovely, size and tension fine but it's just too scratchy. First time I've knitted with this wool and it looks great but not any good if worn next to the skin. I'm glad I just bought 2 balls - any ideas what I could use it for?

    Another lesson learned xx
