I've been sooooooo busy reading some new books on my kindle that I am yet to pick up my needles today after not touching them at all yesterday :o

Tonight I will finish of the scarf I'm working on! I plan on finishing off everything I have on the go before starting something new. I even visited HC today and left with out a single ball of wool, I did lovingly stroke a few though :rotfl:

  • Hi, can I join you all please?
I started knitting again at the beginning of last year after not knitting for about 10 years+
I ended up starting from scratch with wool, patterns and knitting needles, found out I can get a pair of needles from my local charity shop for £1 a pair :money:
Can I just ask the sock knitters, do you use a circular needle when making socks? I've never used a circular needle before, but would love to make socks, might have to pay a visit to the charity shop again.

I knit socks on four double pointed needles but some people do use circulars. It takes a bit of getting used to at first but once you've got the knack you'd be fine. There are various posts on Youtube showing you how to cast on etc.
  • Thank you Thirzah, I'm sure I can get a set of needles from the charity shop.

I am currently knitting a pair of socks and i have only ever used dpn's for sock knitting. I have ordered a short circular needle to give it a try. I decided to challenge myself this year and try more difficult knitting patterns. I would love to learn to knit socks two at a time.

    regards

Hanert.......can you pick up the stitches at the bottom of the sweater and continue the rib to whatever length will make it long enough for DD? To avoid a mark pick up the stitches on row before cast on......have done this several times and it works.

I'm making my DD some wrist warmers and a beanie hat with some hand dyed sock yarn I bought ages ago, it is so soft and scrummy but is taking ages to knit up on 3.25mm needles :rotfl: 1 wrist warmer done yesterday and I'm going in for it's partner when I've finished my cuppa!

    Whats everyone else working on?

2016 WILL be the year I clear my over sized yarn stash!
