Hi all can I join in too. Nearly rich that's brilliant advice about the sleeves thank you.
I have done a hat and scarf set for my DGD this year and am 3/4 of the way through a cardi for my DGS, I have a list of things from my DDs to make for them both so will be busy getting on with that.
I've also been knitting up small 3" squares to use up bits of wool and I'm going to make them into patchwork kind of blankets backed with teddy bear fleece but that's going to take quite a while.konMarie and fabbing all the way

I've not posted on here for a very long tme, so I have made quite a lot since then! I have a facebook page for my knitting called Mary Knitter Knitting and Crochet- feel free to take a look (I don't sell so it's not an advert, in case anyone wonders!). Off to catch up with the thread now!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Hi, I used to be avid reader of the knitting thread but rarely posted. Being retired now and having more time i have came out of Lurkdom and am posting on a couple of threads.
Orkney Star - I remember your posts and was amazed at how quickly you knitted so many gorgeous things. Good to hear you're still at it.
I have finally finished purple cardi for granddaughter - I had nearly finished it then decided to add a bit more length to the body. So ripped back the back and fronts and added another 2". This will give her a lot more wear out of it.
Can anyone tell me how to post a picture?

Orkney Star I think you are the lady with the fantastic socks!
I ripped back the hat for Missy H, they colours on the wool pooled differently from the wrist warmers and it made the lime green really bright and all wrong so I'm changing pattern and hoping second time lucky!
I aim to make this http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/zest-kids-unisex-cardigan-free-knitting-pattern next! decided i'm not skilled enought o tackle the zip just yet!Living in a superhero induced haze :A:A

Hi again everyone, Nice to see you all on here again. I haven't posted photographs for ages, but I used to do it from flickr- if you have a flickr account you can upload there and it gives you the option to copy the link/image and you can post as link/image. It won't let me post photos from facebook, hence I posted the link to my actual page!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Hi everyone, granddaughter loved the purple cardi I knitted for her birthday. But she was even more overjoyed by the purple cardi and skirt I made for her doll Jessica. The length was fine and the sleeves were turned up so cardi should last her for a long time.
I have bought wool in the sales - although to be honest I absolutely didn't need any!!! I'm going to knit and sew more Christmas and birthday presents this year as now that I'm retired I'm time rich and money poor. I shall decide my next project today, it may be a pink sweater for granddaughter or a long shawl collar jacket for dil's Christmas. Or a sweater for one of grandsons' who both have summer birthdays.

I am aiming for a home made 2016 too Plum, my craft room is fit to bursting and my bank account isn't :rotfl:
No knitting this weekend for me, I've been crocheting and sewing for a birthday party master H went to. Presents seemed to be well recieved but you never can tell, so many people don't "like" handmade these days.
I'm hoping to finish Missy H's hat off tonight and tomorrow (knitting group) then can start of a aran cardi for master H.
How is everyone else getting on with their projects?

Hi everyone, I have been de-cluttering under stair cupboard and found some wool I had stashed there a couple of years ago as it was all small amounts and not enough to do full size garments. I'm going to list it below and I'm not going to knit anything else till its knitted. I have spent an hour going through patterns to find things I could knit so here goes:
Filati da Collezione 300g in fawn/pink
This is lovely chunky yarn and I'm going to knit a cable scarf for dil for xmas. I have already knitted her fingerless gloves and a hat in this so that will complete the set. She loves the hat and gloves.
Paton's Spritz Aran 200g in a champagne colour.
I'm going to knit a lacy scarf and fingerless gloves for a xmas present. Several years ago everyone got these in different colours as xmas presents but not the gloves. 200g will be enough yarn to knit both.
Sirdar Denim Sport Aran 230g in lilac/purple
I'm going to knit grandson a shaw collar jumper for xmas. He will be 18 months old then.
Twinkle DK 60g in black with silver thread
This will be another pair of fingerless gloves for a Xmas present. I gave a few of these as presents this year and they were well received as good when texting.
Teddy Soft as Silk DK 200g in lemon.
This is a really soft yarn so going to knit a baby girl gift set to put by for next wee girl to be born.
Well, that's my list and I've written it here so that I'm not tempted to knit something not on the list. First knit is going to be the jumper for grandson's Xmas.
This afternoon I'm going to sew up the jumper for granddaughter that I finished last night. The pattern is from a magazine, it has moss stitch borders and a heart on the front. It's really nice knitted in pink Patons Smoothie. I don't often knit with 100% acrylic but I've done a few kids things with this and it washes great.
Phew ..... What a length of a post.

Plum you are amazingly organised!! I wish I had your planning and will power, I always say nothing new until I've finished a wip but it never works
Not much knitting for me, my hands are not liking the cold weather and my hormones are raging making me impatient and frustrated  I'm nearly finished the back of Master H aran hoodie and I'm not loving itit is a cable pattern but it is on 5mm needles so a bit "gappy and messy" but it is for keeping him warm when camping and I am sick of seeing the green speckled aran sitting unused so it will get finished!!
I'm reducing my yarn stash, I've crochet a few giraffes and they are great for making up stripey to use up odds and sods of left over yarn.Living in a superhero induced haze :A:A
