  • Oh, I'm sorry your work was not appreciated, hanert.
Maybe you can find a way to convert it into something that you will use, I would not throw it away either.
I am at the moment knitting Christmas ornaments. They will probably be finished before Christmas 2016 :D but I just like to make some small things that I do not have to try on and that do not need to fit.

I'm knitting socks in a lovely self patterning wool in shades of lilac and grey. Nearly finished the first sock. They were for me but they are turning out so well that I might put them in the present drawer to give to DD next Christmas.

    Happy new year all
Hanert sorry your jumper wasn't aprechiated, I hope next year you'll fins someone in your family who wants to wear it.
I'm currently crocheting a baby blanket.

My goal this year is to use as much of my wool stash without buying more unless I really need it. I've got a few good cause projects lined up and I've promised myself I'll have a go at knitting a pair of socks as I've never done that before.

    Happy knitting all

I am almost finished a third cardigan from home spun yarn. Pattern from ravelry. It doesn`t look anything much on the needles but is lovely to wear and knits up so easily and quickly. I am using size 6 mm needles and just altered the numbers of rows to get the size I want. This is the second one for me and this time is in grey 2 ply corriedale. A dd liked the first one so much that she asked me to make one and I did but smaller. This pattern has to be a go to for me and I`m going to download another copy and file it as the last one is written all over

I made 4 pairs of socks before christmas, three were presents. All with fine yarn on size 2mm dpns. I am just trying to reduce my stash. The socks all turned out lovely and even better after washing and drying on sock forms

I spent a long time last year making a very special long scarf, again via ravelry by jared flood

it was absolutely beautiful, made from mohair silk and wool, so I gave it with specific washing instructions. The recipient washed it in a machine and just about ruined it. I just thank goodness that I didn`t give my husbands away when I was clearing his things out after he died. It is a very beautiful scarf when finished

I want to spin as I have a huge stash of fibre but need to knit faster first and these warm days aren`t helping, I like cool when knitting and have made jumpers and shawls that may never get worn because they are going to be too warm. Future projects are going to be made with silk blended fibres with a hint of wool or cashmere and I will spin thinner to get finer yarn. Sigh, I have to be realistic

Kittie I loved your post and looked up socks forms as I didnt know what they were! Very impressed by your spinning and all the work you do. I was sad to read about your husband`s scarf but I am sure it gave him a lot of pleasure.

Hi, I'm coming out of lurkdom to post - so happy to see posts here again.

I can't watch TV without knitting and as I love watching tv I get a lot of knitting done. I have even more time for knitting now as I retired in October.

For Christmas I knitted aran outfits for my 3 grandchildren, aged between 6 months and 5 years. Also knitted my mum an aran waistcoat and fingerless gloves for all my girlie friends. I'm now knitting a purple cardigan for my granddaughter who's 3 in a fortnight - she loves purple! After that I think I will knit myself something.

Like most knitters I have an ever growing stash but hoping to make a big dent in it this year. Happy knitting

Hi everyone, can I join in please?

I am kind of challenging everything in 2016, debt, spending, clutter... and as part of my decluttering I have also sorted my fabric and wool stash! :D

I haven't actually knitted anything in such a long time, so I have a couple of balls of random chunky wool that I have just cast on to make a simple moss stitch scarf... I realised that of all the things I have ever knitted, I have never made a single scarf!

So that's my starter for 10, along with learning how to knit socks. I have several balls of wool here that would be suitable and I never seem to have enough socks... so it seems like a good way to kill two birds with one stone :)

Other than that I also have a pattern and wool for a lovely sparkly cardi, so that will be on my list when I am back into the swing of things :)
