    Brilliant!!!

Love all the characters, must have taken quite a while. It looks like it is firmly attached to the railing...didn't anyone notice someone sewing it on??

Oh, pennib and Orkney, looks like I am heading up your way next month. :j:j I might even be helping out with a knitting workshop on Orkney!!

I'm firmly on mainland....just. I'll wave as you fly over :rotfl:(even tho most deliveries think we live on the islands due to our postcode and charge mucho extra)

Flying to Inverness, then taking the bus to Wick, where dad will pick me up (see my "name" as to where I'll be staying!) I'm only going to be over in Orkney for a few days, seeing family and friends....and possibly doing this workshop!

Tell me about the extra delivery costs!! Both dad and my sis (in Wick) complain about this a lot!! As for posting things from down here, they take less than a day to get "home"! Must get onto the plane at either Birmingham or Bristol and fly direct to Inverness...just like I'll be doing!!!

Love the car Bluebell!! Looking forward to piccies of the village.

Need to get to bed soon, shattered tonight. Busy day ahead in the garden tomorrow...I hope!

Have a good weekend everyone x

    Where are you pennib ?
Re deliveries, Royal Mail can get parcels from Glasgow (and further south sometimes) the next day, but some deliveries take weeks.....no next day delivery here and some places simply refuse to deliver or add a huge surcharge on! Fair enough for heavy things, but small stuff that can go by RM, they claim costs £££ more to send here and it doesn't!

When they confirm next day delivery me and DH always smirk and roll our eyes cos we know it ain't going to happen!
We have very little probs with Royal Mail and often get items in double quick time. It's the large carrier items that get charged....a lot.
Small price to pay for living somewhere so nice tho:j

    Kiess....not a million miles away;)

Back on track, got a big basket of knitted bunnies to go into the craft shop.

Oooh where's the craft shop then?

We could meet up if you want while I am up. I would love to have a crafty natter, and see your lovely pieces of work in the flesh (as it were :D).

You are right Royal Mail is usually great...we live south of Birmingham, and I can take a letter/.parcel to catch the 5pm collection at our local PO, and it will be delivered in Caithness the next day about 11am!!!

Been out in the garden this morning, lovely sunny and warm day. Might have to think about taking the bubblewrap off part of the greenhouse...it was over 20 degrees before lunchtime, and that's with the door wide open!! Going to get some hardier plants outside, so I can ge my shelves back into the greenhouse, ready for all the seeds I will be sewing in the next month or so.

Have a good weekend everyone x

Read a knitting instruction for a dishcloth in a 50s magazine - now confused!

It said to wrap the cotton around the needle twice on every other row and to then miss the extra loops on the in between row to keep the same number of stitches. I really can't picture what it would look like!!

I have made a basic knit one before.
