So I have been ill (again) but here is the first dent in my aim to finish a few WIP's in Feb. Size 11 socks for DH, knitted on a 2.25mm needle. Pattern on leg only so sole was mindless knitting really, even if it was a lot of mindless knitting.

Hope to make a stab at a pair for me now.....one done a while back and one to go. Much smaller than socks for DH lol! Still he has 3 pairs now, and I am getting used to knitting bigger socks for him! I am a UK 5, so much quicker!
Hope all are well and sorry I have been absent for a bit.....x

Glad your feeling a bit better Orkney. Sinusitis hurts so much. I don't suffer with it myself but dd gets it pretty bad. Wish there was a cure for it. Your DH feet will be toasty in those socks.

Here is Belinda Ballerina, named after my daughter who couldn't keep still for 2 minutes :D

Wow, what a coincidence, my mum lives in Warrington where this company is based, and Culcheth is only 9 miles from where she lives as well. I'll have a word with my sister who also lives in Warrington, just round the corner from my mum as well, literally. I'll ask my sister to pay a visit to The Black Sheep, she can make some enquiries on behalf of my mum [hopefully].

    Thanks Keiss!
    Glad to help. :D

Hope you feel better soon Orkney, sinusitis is no fun. I can't wear my glasses when I get it, never mind bend forward, so the only crafting thing I can do is knit, but a simple pattern, and hope I don't drop any stitches!!!

I can sympathise with knitting big socks...DS2 is size 12, so lots of knitting! I am a size 7, and think I have just reached the toe area on the second sock...nearly there :j:j

Been busy sewing lately, should really be doing some now in fact, but had to answer a couple of emails and print off a few documents, so popped on to see how everyone's getting on.

Love the bunnies pennib, well done! :T

Will pop on some piccies once I finish the socks!

Finished a poncho for my niece's daughter in Australia.
Think I'll add a cord at the neck with pom poms as it looks a bit like lacy bloomers at the mo

    Hi everyone
Just completed my first sock yesterday and started the second today, so happy I managed to do one, I just followed the pattern and it emerged perfect:) still cant understand how it all came together:rotfl:but it did

Also been doing a bit of crocheting as well, Im a novice at that, but still enjoying it, going to try and make something using my sewing machine next, not sure how that will work out:rotfl:

Anyway off to make a pot of coffee and then some more sock making
    Jxx
PS Hope everyone is feeling as happy as I am:j

  • Ooh lovely bunny Pennib. She is too cute for words. I've knitted the parts to a teddy so will add a pic once he's all sewn up.

Cuddles the poncho looks fabulous. Aww I remember a poncho I had when I was a little 'un. I think it would lovely with pompoms arounds the neck or little crochet flowers?

Orkney hope you feel well again soon.

NannyGladys yay to the sock turning out well. You do sound very happy :j

I don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals.

Yay for you :). Just a word of warning, socks are very addictive, but just make sure you don't get SSS (second sock syndrome), where the urge to cast on a new pair overtakes the urge to make mates for single socks!
I am still not 100% (thanks for the well wishes all of you!) but back into finishing things again.....75% done on the second sock of another pair....this time for me! Will post pics when done :).
    Take care everyone.
