Recipeholic i think it is as lynseydee says but then when you have knitted into the back of two stitches twice pass the 1st stitch over the second and off the needle exactly as you would in a normal cast off. If that's not right feel free to correct me anyone.Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. – Hilary Cooper

Good evening ladies x I know I very rarely post, but I have been busy with my needles just recently. My friend had a very tiny baby last week and I have almost finished a little cardi for him, just the picking up to do for the button band. I'm not looking forward to that bit as I've never done it before and my mum says she's never been able to get the hang of it...
I also have a little hooded cardi on the go for my friends baby, due in 6 weeks.
It's my mums birthday at the end of the month too and I've seen a pair of handwarmers on ravelry that I think she would really like, so as soon as the prem baby cardi is finished I shall be starting my adventures in the art of cabling!! wish me luck
I am starting to get the hang of it all now, i'm still very slow though. The main thing is, I'm really enjoying it. I can't post pics though because our camera wont charge.

"Cast off loose for top of head by knitting 2 sts together in the back of the sts"
I can knit 2 sts together without problem and I can cast off, but I can't quite understand how to do the 2 together. If anyone could help I'd be very grateful.
Liz
I could be wrong but it may be casting off by knit two together then transfer that stitch back to the left hand needle. Doing it that way you will end up with one stitch as normal.
On my phone atm so can't link but I'm sure I've found it on g00gle before.

I am so frustrated I could sob!
Been trying to knit a pig from Knitted Toy Tales and I am about half way through the body and I have made some sort of awful mistake and now have two wee holes in it. I have unpicked the last two rows but now I am in a total mess. Don't want to start again as this is the second time in the last couple of days that I have tried this.
I am not a natural knitter and this is only my second attempt at something that is not a square or rectangle.
OK deep breath, I will give it another shot tomorrow.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

You have my every sympathy! I'm not capable yet of unpicking stitches, so I've always had to start again when I've made mistakes - or fudge the issue when possible! Hopefully it'll go better today.0 -

Knit two stitches together. Knit next two stitches together. You'll now have two stitches on your left hand needle. Pass first stitch over second, as in normal cast off. Knit next two stitches on right hand needle together. You'll now have two stitches on your LH needle. Pass first stitch over second as in normal cast off. Repeat to end of row.
It gives a more rounded finish to the cast off.Val.0 -
As this is the Knitters Thread I thought I'd post here instead of the I Wanna board.
Does anyone know where you can buy fairly decent knitting wool in bulk? Preferably a company that can send out samples as well.
My mum is after some and would like to know if there's a company were you can also order wool via post or over the phone [as well as via the internet].0 -
Lugh_Chronain - I tend to buy a lot from here, not in bulk, but I'm sure they'll have plenty. They are very helpful and are available on the phone too. Good luck!
Not done much knitting this week, though not far off finishing the second sock for me...can't wait! :j Been busy sewing instead, which has been fun, off to do more tonight.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone x

Wow, what a coincidence, my mum lives in Warrington where this company is based, and Culcheth is only 9 miles from where she lives as well. I'll have a word with my sister who also lives in Warrington, just round the corner from my mum as well, literally. I'll ask my sister to pay a visit to The Black Sheep, she can make some enquiries on behalf of my mum [hopefully].
Thanks Keiss!0
