I have started to knit a pig from "Knitted Toy Tales" which is one of my favourite crafting books. Not a natural knitter though so I think it is going to take me quite a whileTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Fianlly rediscovered knitting after a decade of other stuff. Had forgotten how much I enjoyed it and how addictive it can be.
Just finished this which was tons of fun to do.
Hi from a long-time lurker on this thread. I was inspired by the photo of the tea cosy in the post above to buy the pattern and make one for my aunt who loves owls. I wonder if anyone could help with this part of the pattern please:
"Cast off loose for top of head by knitting 2 sts together in the back of the sts"
I can knit 2 sts together without problem and I can cast off, but I can't quite understand how to do the 2 together. If anyone could help I'd be very grateful.

What you need to do is put your needle from your right hand into the back of the first stitch and also through the back of the next stitch as if you were going to just knit one stitch as normal, wind the yarn round both stitches and knit them both together. This way you will be decreasing your stitches and in effect casting off.
Sorry if I've not explained this properly and hopefully someone will come along and explain it a bit better.Did owe £9,951.96

Thanks, but I'd still end up with half the number of stitches on my needle wouldn't I?0 -
Asked for help on this on another thread and some lovely ladies told me it is knitted in moss stitch. It's knitted in 100% cotton but i can't find any that looks the same thickness with good stitch definition. Not bothered about 100% cotton but do want the stitch definition. Is it aran or chunky or super chunky. Has anyone used anything they could recommend. Many thanks in advance. http://www.lauraashley.com/bedspreads/parker-cotton-knit-blanket/invt/3519303/Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. – Hilary Cooper
