I have one of those flat round flexible rubber things for opening jars (pound shop I think) which I find invaluable, as you say knit pros and similar are very difficult to hold on to. If you don't have one you could just wrap a rubber band round it a few times and that should give you a good enough grip.

ETA I've never been able to bend the little key, they are really strong. But if you did you could always use a long thin nail like a picture hook pin.
Oh dear, here we go again.

Another finished project - Baby Blanket knitted in Snuggly DK. I will probably trim with ribbon once I know whether it is a boy or girl. Other option will be to back with broidery anglaise wadding.

That's a lovely baby blanket, lucky baby :)

I've never managed to break the little tightening key thing when tightening knitpro needles either and I tighten them until I can't turn them any more.

If you are struggling with the join on bamboo circulars a little bit of clear nailpolish might make it smoother.

Thank you for the suggestions to help with tightening my knitpro tips. Brilliant ideas.

I'm not using them at the moment as I'm knitting the sleeves. I'm looking forward to getting this project finished as I have a jacket for myself I want to finish off. There's not a lot left to do on the jacket. I planned to finish it before I started the jumper for my littlest grandson, but I needed to take it away on holiday with me and it too bulky to pack.

What a lovely blanket. The baby will be warm and cosy in that. The ribbon will be the final touch. Mum will be so pleased with it.

I have a really bad cold/sinusitus/not sleeping, so no enthusiasm/energy/concentration to knit!
Have you joined ravelry.com ? Lots of us are on there and there are hundreds of inspiring projects to look at, and loads of free patterns! x

I will not pay the price for a scarf that mr T etc sell, and have promised Mr PS3 man I would knit him a scarf for christmas, but am now banging my head against a very hard wall. ANy suggestons???

  • Orkney Star,

Hope you're feeling better soon, it's horrible to have sinusitis etc, very sore, so take care of yourself. I do like looking at all your projects, you're such a busy lady, as are all the knitters on this thread. As I said, you are an inspiration to me and, no doubt, a lot of other "lurkers".

Hope you're feeling better Orkney -and staying warm. Have you had much snow?

Made some mittens for my Grandson yesterday. Chose this pattern with a large, almost triangular thumb as I thought they'd be easier to get on. Also put them on a cord to thread through his sleeves - brings back memories :p
