Does anyone one here spin or dye their own yarn?

More sockies finished. I like these, although messed up second toe and had to rip back and do again! Great way to use up scraps of sock yarn.

    Love the socks.
DD called here earlier - was wearing the scarf I knitted for her last Christmas - so nice to see hand knitted items being used. DD said she has had lots of comments on the scarf.

Love the socks, Orkney Star. Brilliant idea for using up 'left overs' (sounds like a post for a cookery thread!!).

Has anyone on here ever tried needle felting? It's one of those things I'd love to try. I'm trying to persuade our WI craft group to arrange a workshop.

    Brilliant socks Orkney :D
On the subject of socks, can I ask a question?

I use Silvers Sock Class, which tells you to cast on loosely over 2 needles. Feedback about the socks I made for gifts is that they have gone slack around the top. Advice please?

Never tried needle felting but would love to do a class or workshop to see if it's worth buying the tools.

I have never made socks, what is the easiest pattern to start with, keeping in mind that I am not a natural knitter :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
