    Hi all:j

Just wondered if anyone had any advice re Knitpro needles?? DH bought me a starter set for Christmas which I haven't used as yet. Then MIL & FIL have given us some cash to buy something with, just for ourselves & nothing to be spent on bills, sboring stuff etc, just on treats!! I wondered if it was worth buying the Knitpro kit (seen it in the sale for 60pounds) that has circulars & all the bits & pieces in a case?

    TIA if you can help
Ooh, if I ever have enough money to spare I would seriously consider them. They get lots of good reviews all over the place. Someone else will no doubt come on and give you first hand experience of them. Good luck!!

I am going to Olympia so there may be some good deals there - I bought yarn there last year.

Can I ask what it is you're going to Olympia for please? I've just looked on the Earls Court/Olympia website, and can't find anything crafty on in the next couple of months.

I've got the Knitpro Symfonie (sp?) wooden needles and I love them - only word of advice I'd give is to make sure you use the tightening screw that comes and do them up nice and tight as they have come undone on me before I got the hang of tightening properly. Apart from that they're lovely - the yarn seems to slide over the needles and, for me, they're just right for pointiness iykwim. Any questions feel free to ask!

I only have the fixed Knit Pro needles, metal and wood versions, both great but overall metal better. Not had experience of the interchangeable ones though.

    hi all

I have managed to get a load of castagnette yarn, i have never used it before and picked up 6 balls in various colours for a £1 a ball. I should have know that there would be a reason why i cant knit the blessed stuff.
I have picked up a video on you tube so can see how to do it but has any body got a pattern for a scarf so i can actually try and knit something. I am an experienced knitter but just cant get to grips with this at all.

I have googled all my usual pattern sites but cant pick up a pattern on any of them. any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers

Note this pattern is in German and I think Dutch but has photos.

It looks very similar to Woolcraft Tango yarn and if you google that you will find youtube videos on how to knit it up, its very easy, I did 20 of those scarf's for Christmas each took about 3 hrs and I am slow these days.

    Happy Knitting

I had a set of knitpro circulars as a pressie a while back and can't recommend them too highly. As mumof2 says, they are very smooth - in fact the smoothest I've ever used - and the cord is very flexible so easy to use. Drawbacks? Don't let anyone sit on them! The ends snap - suppose any wooden needle would - but they are very expensive to replace. Luckily dh is a good crafter himself and (feeling very guilty)he was able to shorten one pair of ends and refit the screws.

Oh - forgot to say that a cord with the ends on makes a good stitch holder.

No, I've no commercial interest - just a very satisfied customer.

    Happy clicking!!
