    Well Done Orkney, lovely bag.

How about listing it on Ravelry stash as for trade/sell, or if you want something more active maybe Gumtree? Or if there's a knitting group/course somewhere, putting an advert up there?

Does anyone know of a plain fitted round neck DK jumper pattern? I want to try and do the Kate Davis Owl jumper in DK but I can't find a pattern to follow for the jumper part, they are all really fancy or too loose.

I haven't tried knitting socks - are they easy to knit and how much yarn do you need for a pair please?

100g does one pair and there are free patterns all over the web too. Bit fiddly at first but you get the hang of it!

It is using a set of four needles isn't it? Not done that before. Are hand knitted socks more special than shop ones?

Been trying to post a pic of the mouse I made from the Knitted Toy Tales book but I am having real trouble putting it on here even though I have re-sized the image?? Any ideas?

Thank you Mikazaru, I might post it on Ravelry, just seems a waste to have it sitting here going to waste.

yes, you need a set of dpns (double pointed needles) which you can get for under a fiver. I got a nice set of bamboo ones which feel nice and have been very good. The thing about sock knitting is..it can go either way, either you become addicted to it (highly portable hobby, the thrill of seeing the sock wool pattern materialise) or you suffer from 2nd sock syndrome where you cant bear to do another one!

    go for it!

Yes, it's on 4 needles Florence. It might be better to practice this technique before trying to make socks..fingerless gloves would be a good thing to start with, loads of patterns on Ravelry.

Hand-knitted socks are lovely and warm and cosy. Try using sock wool, which has some form of acrylic/polyamide in addition to the machine-washable wool, which will make them last longer than pure wool. They hold their shape well too, and you don't have to remember to handwash them, just chuck them in the washing machine! Good luck whatever you choose to do...can you tell I am one of the addicted sock-knitters??? :D

Managed to get some of DS2's second sock last night and this morning..have turned the heel and finished the gusset...now "all" I have to do is knit the foot. As DS2 has size 12 feet, I have a loooong way to go!! :rotfl:

Enjoy a knitty evening everyone xx

    Hello all

Would anyone have any patterns/ links to patterns for easy baby boy's cardigans or jumpers? I have only just learnt how to knit and my baby is due in 12 weeks and would really like to make some cardigans or jumpers for him.

    Many Thanks

    Rachel

I knitted fingerless gloves for my Daughters in the 1970/80s but they were on two needles.

They have lots of patterns on Ravelry, although you have to register first, http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/search#sort=best&query=baby cardigan ...
