    My OH said I had a very disturbing glint in my eye as I whipped out my notebook and started jotting down yarn names so I could find projects for them :rotfl:

    Soon it will all be mine wahahahahahahahah

  • Oh thanks Rummer, well I have got to go into town to spend a £9.50 Holland & Barrett Voucher before the 9th of Jan and it just happens that John Lewis is just around the corner from it, so will just go in and take a peek, just a peek, I mean nowhere to put more yarn, but then there is that empty box that was earmarked for dads cassettes, but they have lived in carrier bags since I brought them down in the summer, a bit longer will not harm them will it and filling it with yarn will make it look so colourful ( its plastic and see through) in study, much more than if filled with tapes.......now just need to check when OH can take me in, can ask him to take car into work that day and pay for a days parking so won't even have car parking charges, he knows how he prefers to take car rather than get lift in and train home...................
    Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

  • Finished hubby's neckwarmer last night. First time knitting with circular needles so a bit of an achievement.
    Unfortunately for hubby, DS has claimed it so I need to make another one. I am going to wait though and buy a shorter needle as it was a bit of a PITA moving the stitches round.

    John Lewis in Glasgow has loads of yarn at 50% off there was a variety of Tweed, Rowan, Debbie Bliss to name but a few. Huge numbers and gorgeous colours. Also a few kits half price including toys and hot water bottle covers. I would imagine other John Lewis stores with haberdashery sections would have a similar sale.

    I was very impressed and had to talk myself out of the shop :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:
    One of the times I wished I still lived in Glasgow, or even remotely near a city.
    I got some yarn from Glasgow John Lewis in the summer, Patons Colourworks Aran kit (great) and some Noro sock wool (quite good)......might be worth checking out Hobbycraft for sale stuff too.....I got some good Sirdar yarns cheap at the Fort one in the summer!

    Just finished this for Grandson. Love the patterned yarn and the texture of the different stitches.

    This is the pattern that had a mistake in it! I have emailed King Cole but no reply yet.

    Happy New Year to all, apologies for not being on recently - had to try and get knitted presents completed (and I only actually finished one!!).

    The blanket that I started knitting back at the end of August was finished the day the baby was born and his mum loved it! This is a picture of the finished product;

    Lovely blanket. When I knitted one for a friend she said in came in really useful for putting in the cot, pram or using it as a cover-up when breastfeeding so I am sure it will be much used.
  • I finally managed to take some photos of some of the things I made for Christmas. Our camera was playing up and so I didn't get the chance to photograph things that went out in the post.

    I knitted a fairy for our tree (decided to make her a punk fairy and not too fluffy).

    I made a jumper and a hat as presents for my husband.

    hat (this picture was taken when we had been out and got very wet and so the hat looks a bit mishapen as it is soggy when the photo was taken)

    I am currently knitting some bright socks for me - just finished the one so far.
