They look lovely. Glad you're feeling a bit better. Take it easy, OK?

Just in case anyone is interested, the pattern for the jumper from the SECOND series of The Killing is in the Radio Times next week.

    Its the red one.

Thanks Robson. I'd love to have the pattern - I'd better keep my eye out. Just one question: when does the Radio Times come out? I've never, ever bought a copy.

  • It's in the issue which is out at the moment with The Killing on the cover, I think it'll be out till next Tuesday (possibly, I never buy it, only got it for the pattern!)
No idea what I've done with my jumper, i'm trying to join it all together, I have a feeling it'll end up inside out/back to front at this rate!

Dont worry, finished a jumper last year and asked a friend what she thought, and she said it would look better if I hadn't sewed one sleeve up inside out :o

    Hi
Does anyone know how you join a new ball of Flamenco wool please? It's like Rico can can type stuff. I'm not sure I like it as much as proper knitting but it is knitting up really quickly :)

I'm not being facetious but my first thought was "sewing machine". That stuff is wide, isn't it? Ravelry tells me that Rico Can Can is netting, so how about carefully hand-sewing an overlap of 4-6 inches together, using back stitch or some sort of feathery stitch down the middle? You want to make sure it catches but you don't want it to be stiff. You may even be able to match the thread colour to that portion of yarn.

  • That's exactly what I did. Fortunately I'd written it down as I did each row (and still followed it wrong) but I was able to do the same on the next one.
I bet they'll look great anyway and as long as they keep your hands warm :)

The good news is that once I got to the thumbhole I remembered what I'd done, so they match:T Still have no idea how to do it properly though!

Well done. I bet you were relieved.:D I'm making these wristwarmers at the moment and the pattern knits up quickly. Here's the link if you to have a go.

I made those a couple of years back, added a crochet flower too, they were pretty cool. Easy to make but look really nice.

Thank you so much for that dizzy lizzie, you know how it is with Ravelry, you go on to look for one thing and 2 hours later you're off in another world;)
Have saved that one and will have a go, maybe over the weekend.

Today I've started a pair of 'toast' long ones for me, I have one pair but really wanted them in a soft black. Found some wool while on holiday (King Cole Haze, just right) but being black - and thin! - can only do it in a good light - and they have that pesky thumbhole!

Also finished off a shopping bag (sewing) and managed to do the handles inside-out. These are the kind of things that convinced me years ago that I couldn't knit or sew:( I wasn't about to unpick the whole bag, so I did a cable stitch all the way up the handles' seams so they didn't show :)
