How many knitters does it take................!

I have been headbanging how Apollonia and I got the same stitch count when we have done different. I think I've got it. Your second repeat has only k1 p1 three times.

I think that the first line should not include the word "more". Not a well phrased pattern!

    More coffee.

Yes, the repeat section says "rep from * to last 4 stitches" and there aren't enough stitches to finish the repeat before reaching the last 4 stitches IF you follow the 'twice more' instruction:
    K1 (p1 k1) twice more, *M1, (p1 k1) 4 times: rep from * to last 4 st, m1, (p1, k1) twice (28 sts)

Could the OP tell us which pattern she is using? Then we can make a decision on whether the word 'more' is a mistake or not. :)

Well after 3 attemps last year I managed to knit a hat that actually fit on the dolls head!!!

    http://www.lovinghands.org.uk/superstretchyhat.pdf

Now my daughter wants me to make a larger one (for Roby Doll).
I would love to make some matching scarfs, the ones I tried last year looked really boring ... thinking it could be some cheap stocking fillers.

Can anyone give me an idea of how many stitches ??? Is it a case of measuring around the dolls head and making it that wide?? Do I K2, P2 .... do I have to have knits or pearls at the beginning/end ??

Sorry but I really am a learner :rotfl:

Lovely socks PepPop, well done, I think it's great to have non-identical matching socks!! :D

Also shocked at the thought of nothing to knit ....I have about four different knitting projects on the go atm. I take
socks (my dad's atm) with me when I go out as they fit in my handbag, and I can natter without having to concentrate too much!!

Heading out soon to visit a quilting shop before seeing my chiroptactor...never knew this place was there and I must have passed nearby hundreds of times Could be dangerous...and expensive!
    :D

Have a great day everyone x

Well done on the socks Keiss - another conversion to socks :j

Managed to finish the socks I started in the airport, carried on knitting on the flight, then on holiday. Been sitting with Mum who isn't too good after her second operation, so managed to finish the second one :)

Quite liking the Zig Zag yarn

What lovely socks. I have made 2 pairs in DK and 4 ply from Silvers pattern, which has been fantastic, and I am chuffed to bits I can do it, but they socks are knitting up very wide in the foot, your socks seem to fit so much better on the foot.

Does anyone have any tips, or could suggest another pattern I could try now I have mastered the basics. Many thanks
