sunshine01 Thank you. I got the pattern from Ravelry - I'll try to find it for you ... Here you go It's knitted over 60 sts if that's any help
I'm with Keiss. I found once I got used to not winding the yarn round the needle it knitted up really quickly.
Got another pair of socks on the go then I'm gonna get my finger out and get all my mug hugs done for Christmas0 -

You've convinced me cuddles and Keiss. I'll have a peep at it when I get a chance. If there's one thing I love it's socks. The colourful the better.
Also cuddles your poems are brilliant :T

Thank you all for your replies, will go and lok at Black Sheep now. I had a look in a wool shop yesterday at a sample and I seem to be knitting it right, nice ruffles forming. Guess I will just have to persevere with it, I am a pretty good knitter just cannot get my head round it :mad:Clearing the junk to travel light

I made you a Tawashi, though you may not know the name.
You use it like a scourer, but it isn’t quite the same.
Cos it won’t hurt your fingers, or scratch your precious china,
So hang it with this dishcloth and your kitchen will look finer!
Love your poem! I think this would help a lot of non-knitters. I'd love to knit dishcloths and tawashis for friends but they would have no idea what to do with them lol!
I should introduce myself. I'm Vic and I love, love, love to knit, just wish I had more time to do so. Before money got tight I used to buy a lot of yarn but going to have to work from what I have stashed away now.
I had planned on doing a lot of Christmas knits (so far I have one and a half pairs of socks...) but I got married at start of October then went on honeymoon so haven't had much time!November £5 a day challenge: £223.16/£150

Oh I have a go at everything from hats, scarves etc to toys and blankets. I use mainly interchangeable circular needles for everything.

Could anyone tell me if it's normal for the numbers printed on needles to wear off? I bought a set of the KnitPro needles a short while ago and already the sizing numbers have worn off. It means I've had to keep careful track of them them as I don't have a thingummy that sizes needles. And I after forking out so much money for the set, I don't really want to spend money on one. All my other needles are plain bamboo and still have the numbers but before I complain I want to ask the experts (that's you folks!) if this is something normal. And is there any homemade cheap solution? They are the multicoloured symponie wooden needles. Thanks in advance for any advice.
I use these all the time. They only started printing the size on them recently, and you're right, they do wear off. You do need one of those cards with holes in to check the size, there are lots very cheap on ebay. It also helps when you want to make an American pattern as you can use it to find the equivalent metric size.Landgirl0 -

WOW Lucky you. A lot of yarn used to come in 2 ounce (about 28g) balls- I have some from charity shops- in fact managed to get about 10 pure new wool (red) ones one day for about £2- was well chuffed!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
