  • I've just got a pattern from Ravelry for a 7" tall knitted chipmunk. It doesn't specify how much stuffing it needs.
Please can any of you toy knitters give me a clue?

    Thank you.

I can second that recommendation. There are some fab ones on Ravelery especially if you add "cable" to your search. My biggest problem is deciding which one to tackle. There are sooooo many I'd love to knit.

I have decided to have a go at this one :)

Ooh I love that. Though I think I would put buttons along the bottom so you can get the hottie out if necessary.

I would think maybe 1/3 smallish bag? I usually just keep a bag in my stash, I'm not sure of the size but it is about £2 a bag in my local market and one bag can fill a large cushion :) It usually stuffs quite a few toys :)

Fianlly rediscovered knitting after a decade of other stuff. Had forgotten how much I enjoyed it and how addictive it can be.

Just finished this which was tons of fun to do.

The owl pattern is by Debbie Birkin, its all very basic stitches using DK wool. Four 50g balls of varying shades of creams and brownswould be more than enough to do one. The eyes are an obscure size. I ended up having to buy a pack of 50. If you do decide to knit it PM me and I'll bung a pair in the post otherwise you'll end up paying £1 per eye plus P&P online.

Was planning to knit a not-really-a-darlek cafetierre cover but the wool hasn't arrived so am going to attempt "sack of mice" by the same designer instead since it uses up all the left over wool from the owl.

Thanks for posting this, I love it! I shall be giving it a go for a Christmas present.

LOL, I'm lurking om here to avoid sewing up the tunic top I knitted for DD in Debbie Bliss Arn (super-gorgeou). I'm awful at sewing up, so my mission tonight is to find some good tutorials/youtubes to get over the fear/boredom that sets in halfway down the side!

Anyone else love knitting, but not sewing up?
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Current Pay Off Target : £1500

Used to hate sewing up until I discovered mattress stitch. Especially good for stocking stitch, very neat. Now I don't mind at all.

Also very neat, unless you're using very thick wool.
