Many thanks for the suggestions Merry Wanderer. Just got 2 patterns from Ravelry and joined up - what a great website!
I only joined last month, already have a list of things to make as long as my arm, the selections of patterns is fab.
@NannyJanny, I didn't know there was an MSE group, will take a look, I am the same username.0 -
hi everyone i have not long started knitting as i had a surprise grand daughter
i have just finished a cardigan with a hood on, and the word Princess and a crown on the back (which i designed like a cross stitch) lol had help from my mum in law with pattern terminology as i normally do cross stitch. Now i have started a cardigan for my hubby for christmas/birthday depending on how long it takes
nice to find you all
thought you might like to see it, just got to get some buttons, and its in size 3 to 6 months0 -
That looks really nice well done, i love the princess on the back.
i have been away for months but I am back now, im basicly on bed rest because of having another baby and because of underlying medical issues im not allowed to work anymore so will be at home online bored out of my brain, i think i may have to pick up the knitting again.0 -

Not a silly question at all.

Is anyone going to the knitting and stitching show at ally-pally this year? I go every year and love it! The last few years have seen an increase in the needlewoork/cross stitch stand which is a bit dull for me (cos I don't do it!) but I still love browsing. Although I'm mainly a knitter, I love buying bits and bobs from the bead stalls too.0

Been on the Raymond Briggs site, and they seem to sell those scarves, about £35 (knitted in alpaca) - nice. I don't think anyone has made a pattern as there might be copyright issues? Looks like you want a plain scarf with snowmen motifs knitted in. Are you a member of Ravelry? If not it's free to join, and there will probably be some snowman motifs in the pattern search on there.0 -

Mmmm...would love to go to one of the shows (even have lodgings, as son lives in London). Think it's better if I stay away at the moment though, I know I'll spend and I mustn't!0 -
I'm really enjoying knitting my scarf for my nephew Jamie right now. Progress is slow though so even taking it along with me to do to Church coffee morning; no-one will mind I'm sure and I'll have 1 hour 30 of knitting, drinking coffee, eating cake and chatting ..... blissFlymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0
