I agree totally with jennyjelly, I printed it all off and keep it in a ringbinder in plastic sleeves, I am forever referring back to it. Mind you, since it have knitted three pairs in four weeks, I can do most of it all without referring back to the instructions...this really impresses non-knitters!!!! :D

Been knitting a cushion cover lately, but not sure about it ....will have a proper look at it some time, busy decorating this week, so not much spare time :)

Doesn't it just! I always have a pair of plain socks on the go so I can do a bit wherever I am and once you know the formula you can make any size from any wool without looking at the pattern. I've had people in waiting rooms etc watching me turn a heel and they can't believe I just do it out of my head.

Of course I don't let on how simple it is, a bit of admiration is to be treasured!

ETA been meaning to say cuddles I'm very impressed with the Christmas stuff - itching to get going on mine now!
Oh dear, here we go again.
  • Loving the advent figures Cuddles. Don't you just love putting the features on and bringing them to life. At least you're sensible and started early. I was so up against time for the one I made last year.

Darning in ends on cardie for me, before I dive in the button box. Found a plain sweater pattern for the sale Paton's Mohair, have nearly done the back on that. Sock envy is creeping in now though, I haven't made a pair for months.

Agree about the features NJ. They are fiddly, but so worth it.
Some are larger than I expected though. Did you knit the tree to hanf them on? How big is it?

I was planning on a flat felt tree, but it will have to be huge to accomodate all the figures.

    I did this one http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/advent-calendar

It was 70 x 50 cm! I mounted it on a piece of rigid plastic (the pattern said cardboard). But I was worried the cardboard might bend after use.

Fianlly rediscovered knitting after a decade of other stuff. Had forgotten how much I enjoyed it and how addictive it can be.

Just finished this which was tons of fun to do.

The owl pattern is by Debbie Birkin, its all very basic stitches using DK wool. Four 50g balls of varying shades of creams and brownswould be more than enough to do one. The eyes are an obscure size. I ended up having to buy a pack of 50. If you do decide to knit it PM me and I'll bung a pair in the post otherwise you'll end up paying £1 per eye plus P&P online.

Was planning to knit a not-really-a-darlek cafetierre cover but the wool hasn't arrived so am going to attempt "sack of mice" by the same designer instead since it uses up all the left over wool from the owl.

Thanks for the link to that site. What lovely patterns. Love the Sack of Mice! I have printed the free Peppa Pig one for a little someone whose birthday is next week.
