i dont know if its only available in my 99p local store or nationwide but they are selling scarf packs at the moment where you get 3 balls of wool, a pair of 4mm needles and a pattern. at that price you could just buy several packs all the same colour and use for a different project, the needles wil always come in handy at some point

Morning all, finished the second pair of socks for DH, will post a piccie later, once I have found my camera. It has been "tidied" away while we decorate...which is what I will be doing the rest of the day.

Love the knitted fruit cuddles. I can't wait to see it all when you have finished it.

I have to get going with knitting some things for selling at a fair I'm booked for at the end of November, so will trawl through my patterns (and wool!) later on in the week. Meanwhile, I will get another hat (or two) knitted in the North Ronaldsay wool. Countryfile is talking about the North Rondalsay sheep this evening at 8pm, it should be interesting.

OrkneyStar, hope you aren't being blown away today, sounds like the wind is fierce up with you today. Must go and ring Dad and see how he is.

Thanks, the wind is howling and it is raining outside....DH off out to Church then something else but me and DS are taking refuge indoors, playing and knitting! Hope your dad is ok. I need to watch that N. Ronaldsay thing tonight....I have never been there though DH has with his friend on a day trip.
I am still sock knitting, nearly got another pair done, but was good this morning and stopped to do some cleaning (it has to be done sometime lol).
Hope everyone is doing ok. I am not on here so much these days but frequent ravelry a bit more!

ETA Here are the socks :

I am doing this gorgeous waistcoat - scroll right down until you're halfway down the screen, past all the sewing stuff, until you hit some pics of a waistcoat. I am waiting for the wool and wish it would hurry up :D

I have SABLE, stash beyond life expectancy! If anyone would like some odd balls of eyelash wool please pm me with your address & I will post them off, there is at least 2 balls of each dyelot, enough to knit a scarf.

I'm just starting to get into knitting but am begrudging to pay so much for wool at the shop I have found that sell it. Can anyone suggest anywhere good to purchase wool online?

Kemps is a great online discount yarn shop. It has some excellent bargains in its clearance section.

Black Sheep Wools always have fantastic bargains on their website. (Sorry, on my phone - can't check the address.) They're in Cheshire. Most of their sale yarns are 50% off and they sell the good stuff.

They also attend many of the shows, Knit & Stitch/Stitch & Craft, where they bring pallets of yarn to sell at >50% off. Their stand always resembles a scrum where women dive bodily into the yarn pile to bag a bargain.

They're the people to which Sublime sell their excess stock and close-outs.
