    Thanks ginnyknits.

Never seen King Cole Riot before, but just looked it up on Ravelry and I love it!

Do you mind if I ask how much it is? Never seen it locally, but may manage to get it online. I love my Lacy Karius in Noro and would like to do another for my daughter. May try that yarn.

Can anyone help? I need to buy some yarn and I ages ago there was a link to a scottish wool shop that sold 100g balls of yarn for really good prices. Sorry its vague, does anyone know what I'm on about?!

I bought some King Cole riot yarn yesterday to do the neck warmers that Cuddles showed last week. It is 30% wool and to me looks a lot like Noro but much cheaper. I also picked up 2 balls of Sirdar click dk in a denimy blue to make DGS a hat for winter and it was only 2.00 for the 2 balls. I have to travel a couple of miles to the wool shop but its a good shop and I often pick up a bargain.
I knitted this with it, a while back:

    Here are my latest socks:

Hope all are well, we are ok, though had a minor trip and to A and E with DS, he is fine though!

I love King Cole Riot as well, it's a really good budget substitute for Noro (well the look of Noro anyway). I knitted a couple of scarves last winter using two different colours, 2 rows of each in a garter stitch wavy pattern. This is the more colourful one, the other is in shades of red and grey.

Wow - loving the Riot yarn now . Great knits everyone :T

Can I ask a question about Wrap and Turn on short rows?

Am knitting another Gilet which has a shawl collar. Wasn't happy with the last one I did as the wraps showed and I thought I'd done them wrong. Just done another for a sister and despite following instructions very carefully the wraps still show on the wrong side.
Is this right? Have also read that you should pick up the wrap and knit with the stitch, but my pattern doesn't mention that.

    Any advice please?

I think you ARE meant to pick the wraps up when you knit along the row next time. Though I forgot to do it on some socks and it was fine (although that was sock yarn, I expect yours is thicker!). I 'think' the wraps are to avoid holes when you do the short rows and make it all more 'stuck together'.

    Thanks Orkney.
I'm not even sure if I'm doing the wrap properly as I've looked at videos and there seems to be different ways. Also, it's 2 x 2 ribbing, so sometimes K and sometimes P.

This is how they look on the WS

Mmm Lovely colours in the King Cole Riot. Don't tempt me!

Have just blocked shawl/scarf for MIL. She spotted the wool (King Cole Mirage) in my stash and raved over it, so this is a surprise for her. Picot edging is a bit suspect in some places,:o but it was my first attempt. Had just bought 4 x 100 gm balls, so the rest will probably be another shawl/scarf.

Cuddles, you are continually pushing frontiers aren't you?! :cool:I have only ever done short rows on a gilet for GD's. Can't remember picking up wraps with stitch there. What pattern are you doing? Knitty.com is starting to be my go-to site for techniques if that's any help.
