For anyone looking for wool for winter projects, Abakhan have some good offers on-line....spent €20 in Lidl to-day on wool and associated bits so can't avail of them myself. MWeight 08 February 86kg0 -
Cuddles, I have knitted 2 neck warmers and 1 fingerless glove, did the stocking stitch part of the gloves in the same pattern as the neckwarmers so they match! :T am really pleased with the results.
Can anyone tell me, cos I can never remember, is chunky the same as 2 strands of DK (Im sure it been asked here before) ??? I got some very nice black DK from Hobbycraft for 49p and want to make the neckwarmers in black. Goodness that means I can make 2 neckwarmers and matching gloves for less than £2.Clearing the junk to travel light

Sorry meanmarie - missed this post yesterday
Thank you for your kind words. Nowhere near the standard of Nannyjanny or Orkney though
Have finished more Tawashis and dishcloths, so only have nephew's scarf to finish at the moment. I can feel a shawl coming on :rotfl:Jack of all trades ... Master of none

I did these
Have a pattern if that's any good?

Hi Cuddles, I've just found this thread and found your post - it's exactly what I'm looking for! Please could you pm me a pattern? The easier the better, as I'm very much a beginner (can do basic and purl stitch, and that's it!). I saw a pattern in a shop, but all I can rember of it was that I was to knit for 22cm (wasn't going to buy the whole booklet just for wrist warmers, but perhaps should have written it down)!
Many thanks in advance

Hi all:j
Just de-lurking to say how impressed I am with the things you all produce!! I used to knit - a long time ago now - but fell out of the habit till I did a few bits last winter. Just long fingerless gloves, and a couple of scarves.
I wonder if any of you clever people can help me - I want to knit an aran gilet, plus cushion covers & possibly also a throw in the same aran-type pattern as those offered on the Laura Ashley site. I'd post links but not sure if I'm allowed to?? to show what I mean - also I can do do basic stiches but I'm not sure how aran weight compares to other wools -is it very different? TIA if you can help:DNew start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 .
