spider that shawl is absolutely stunning
I'm rather itching to do a bit more lace knitting but am holding back, I really must finish the socks I'm knitting for my husband, my cardigan and my mum's gloves first. I also really wish Kemps hadn't been mentioned as I saw some gorgeous yarn in a gorgeous colour but NO I will NOT buy it, I am REDUCING my stash not increasing it!
As for pilling I have a cardigan my mum made knit in some rather expensive Debbie Bliss yarn bought at full price and oh how it pilledsuch a shame. It put me off buying her yarn again...well that particular one anyway as I have other Debbie Bliss yarn in my stash bought in a sale which is a different variety and I'm hoping will be OK.

Was not going to buy any Lidl wool either, but came home with 5x400g balls....€34.95! They will be used at some stage I am sure!!
Well I was in town today, and even picked up some of the wool to look at but decided against it. I have far too much planned to make already. I did get a knitting mag (Let's Knit) and also a vintage pattern book (will photo later as you must see this!).

Oooh I love the mits and the long waistcoat is amazing.
There are lots more patterns in it....that is just the few I quickly snapped...some lovely gloves and scarves and all thickness of wools too....I love charity shop finds (I also got a shetland cashmere jumper for £1.50 in a different shop, handwashed and is on line just now!)

Another vote for the mittens too.
I found an interesting blog about knitting and fashion recently when looking for something else entirely different. The lady is American, but most of the patterns she knits are available in the U.K. She is currently focusing on one specific designer (she explains why in the Sept or Oct blog).
Anyway, I found her blog on knitting and fashion interesting so here is the link.

Hello all - I am about to go and buy the new knitting magazine advertised to see if I can learn how to knit. I cant bake or sew or do anything remotely crafty - but Im willing to learn! My baby is due today and all my friends mums have made me knitted items, but I would like to learn for when baby is a little older! Just thought I would pop in and say hello and hopefully I will be seeing much of you all soon
