    Yes - price puts me off too, but trouble is, if we buy and use cheap acrylic/wool mix yarn it looks awful in no time and pills up. I know it's not always possible, but I buy yarn in charity shops when I can and have even started buying wool hand-knits in charity shops and unpicking them!
    Otherwise try looking for Rowan on Ebay? Trouble is, sellers' postage rates mostly make it more expensive than going to a shop!

    i too have a problem with the cost of wool for any of the patterns i love. i did however purchase the mag they have started selling again to make squares for a blanket. trouble is first time buying the proper wool and have lost it. in y search though i have come across stacks of wool that i dont know what to do with? i have a real basic pound shop kind of chenille wool in a black and a very basic and cheap dk in black. things generally come up bigger when i use other wool than specified, but that could be me. what could i knit up with these 2 stashes that would still come out quite well, i have enough of both for a cardigan/jacket/jumper having even more of the chenille, have that in a nice green colour too which also came for poundland

    Boo hoo :doh::doh::cry: :sad:

    Went to Lidls and they were sold out.

    That would be my fault for buying everything in site last Thursday :eek::rotfl:

    SuziQ I was gonna knit it that way too :o I never even thought to open it out

    Well I'm still trying to get to grips with the bl**dy fingerless gloves I'm trying to make. I'm back at increasing for the thumb - I'm not gonna tell you how many times I've increased these bl**dy stitches and ripped them back - lets just say if it doesn't work this time it's going out the window :eek: I've knitted loads of gloves before but for some reason these are getting the better of me. I will finish them eventually and show you them - it's turning into a mission!!

    I'll look in our local one tomorrow morning if you want. What yarn is it that you want - the one that knits up like CanCan, right? What's the Lidl version called, and what colour do you need, and how much?
