Hello knitters
I have knitted 1 sock from what is now known as the 'soddin sock' pattern

It's not getting a matching one, taken 6 evenings to do and I hate knitting with thin needles :mad:

Is there an easy 2 needle sock pattern that uses aran or chunky wool?
have tried ravelry and google but not found one:(

If not, the men are getting scarves for xmas

I only know 2 patterns for 2-needle socks annie, and they both call for 4 ply. But there's tons for DK in DPNs..

Annie, hope you don't mind me jumping in here. I consider myself a beginner knitter and I've found them fine. I'm using Silver's sock tutorial which spells it out in a way I can understand.

Thank you, those instructions look clear and simple (only read the first page, dont want to frighten myself by looking at doings heals!) but knowing me anything could turn out!
Off tomorrow to local wool shop to get me some points.
I've got some aran wool left over from a jumper, 5mm needle, would I buy the same size in points for socks?

Same here Annie, I don't want to look ahead in case I scare myself! Not too sure about the needle size thing but someone else will know.

Silver is I think American, worsted weight is aran, and US size 6 is I think 4mm. Hope somebody can come along who knows for sure. Silver is great as she takes the steps one at a time and shows lots of piccies

will check needle size with the knitting lady in the shop tomorrow if shes in.

Yes, you are correct, US size 6 is 4mm (UK size 8)
