  • I finished the knitting on my shawl, I just need to "block" it now so all the lace looks open and pretty and any wonky stitches can be evened out

  • Just beautiful lambanana! What a huge amount of work - I don't think I could do anything that big and fancy. I would attempt either big or fancy but not both!
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)

  • Thank you! I actually really enjoyed knitting it and it didn't take too long (a few weeks but I wasn't knitting on it solidly) I'll be able to get proper dimensions once it is blocked and let you know how bit it turns out but it is pretty sizeable at the moment!

  • The shawl is great lambanana.
I am still ribbing my socks....doing a rib to ankle as I think that will make a nice snug fit. The wool is not self-patterning as such but random colours....here is a wee looky!

PS Am using a pattern that came free with wool, but a quick google search will provide bucket loads of sock patterns (eg this is searchable!).

Nice socks Mardy, and nice yarn!

I am flying along (relatively speaking) since I abandoned the rib. The knitting is curling up slightly and the tube seems to be inside out - is that how it should be?

Well someday I hope it will turn into a sock as per Silver's tutorial. :D But I got fed up with doing rib so after a couple of inches of ribbing I am now just knitting.

It's pretty cool isn't it? i got some purple/red mixed stuff from my LYS. i would have had no idea what to do with it but they had some partly knitted and the girl there showed me what to do.

i'm nearly finished my scarf, not sure how long to make it. How long are the 2 you have made?

I used 7 stitches - like on the ball band and got two scarves each measuring 186cm - so a very decent size, I thought ;).

Thanks OS, I'll just keep going - if it turns out terribly wrong I can just rib it up and start again. Hmmm, this could be very MSE way of knitting where you only ever need one ball of wool!
