It's been a while since I last posted, but with Xmas knitting in mind, I just wondered if anyone has used the Rico Can-can from Kemps yet? If you haven't seen this before, you can't get much of an idea from the picture on the site.

It's an unusual scarf yarn, £8.50 for a 200g ball and there are no patterns listed - the pattern is on the ball band. It's unusual in that you don't cast on - the yarn is like a net and you pick up stitches - see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyWarwk5sD4&feature=related

I got two scarves from one ball - £4.25 per scarf and I think it looks really stylish for a home-made present. Have a look and see what you think.

    Hope it helps :)

  • I have just started knitting, and currently know how to CO, Purl, Knit, increase, decrease and BO!!!
BUT I've found that that's pretty much all I need!

I've found some good websites and thought I would share!
wool and the gang . com - good instructions
knitty . com - loads of patterns
and an ebay shop called crafty yarn (i think?!)

It's pretty cool isn't it? i got some purple/red mixed stuff from my LYS. i would have had no idea what to do with it but they had some partly knitted and the girl there showed me what to do.

i'm nearly finished my scarf, not sure how long to make it. How long are the 2 you have made?

I wonder if someone can help me.

I've just started knitting a bag for myself and the pattern contains cobnuts. I've done my 12 rows of the patterning and then it says:-

rep twelve row cobnut patt, dec one st at each end of Row 3, four times, working decs into patt as set. 37 stitches.

I currently have 45 stitches so does this mean I repeat this decreasing of the 12 row pattern 4 times to end up with 37 stitches?

I know this may sound obvious but I'm just having one of those days.
    Did owe £9,951.96

It looks very like Mirage also by King Cole. I've done two jackets in that and gloves, and its gorgeous soft wool and lovely colours...very nice !

If you sign up for their newsletter they send you a 5% discount code. I'm now tempted to buy this pattern for chunky socks and the yarn to make them!
