I asked Sirdar directly and they said no, I've also contacted a few suppliers who said that they can't get hold of them!

Hi
Last week I was browsing this thread and I am now OBSESSED with sock kniotting - is there a cure?
Seriously though I am interested in knitting socks toe upwards which I read about in an old knitters magazine but I can't find a pattern. Does anyone use this method?Snowball DF Nov 2017Jan 2011 MBNA £2634.66 Feb £2608.37 Mar £2561.860 -

Yes, I prefer it. It's very simple - you start by forming the toe (there are several ways to do this), then knit the foot, then turn the heel in just the same way as a cuff-down sock, then knit up the leg as far as you want.
Are you on Ravelry? There are lots and lots of toe-up patterns there. Just do a pattern search for "toe-up".
Silver's Sock Class also has an excellent tutorial for toe-up.0 -

Thank you so much I'll look as soon as I get home (at work at the moment!!). I bought some sock wool from Lidl and have some Regia to use.
The ones I am doing at the moment are long socks in Sirdar Crofters wool which knits up like fairisle. I will try and post a pic when I've finished.Snowball DF Nov 2017Jan 2011 MBNA £2634.66 Feb £2608.37 Mar £2561.860 -
That beanie is lovely. I have some Wendy Happy in that colour but I'm not sure what to knit with it. I got it for socks but then read that it isn't the best for socks as they don't hold their shape so well and there's no stretch in it so I'm not sure now. I may do some sort of lacy scarf or shawl or it may just live in my stash forever whilst I fail to think of what to do with it!
I'm working on circle socks (a good pattern if you have any self-striping wool, it's on ravelry), a lacy shawl and a top secret gift for a knitting swap I'm doing on another forum.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

I tried ordinary knitting, but when you stretch the scarf sideways, it just comes unravelled !
I have been knitting for years, and can't believe I can't work this one out. Can anyone help please ?0 -
I wish I was at home knitting instead of at work! There aren't enough hours in the day to finish all the projects I have in my ravelry queue which just keeps getting longer and longer and longer!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

Well my fireman sam jumper pattern arrived yesterday so will be going to town on saturday to get some wool and as soon as I've finished the little one's christmas jumper will start on this one! Really excited to see my eldest's face when he opens it on christmas day!!
Just a quick question, with the fireman sam jumper there's a picture on the front of the jumper so there's a gridded pattern in the book to use. Do I do this the same as when I'm changing colour on my striped jumper? Does it not get a bit confusing and messy with loads of balls of wool connected to your knitting?
Got to wait for some double pointed needles to be delivered until I can do the sleeves on little one's jumper so may make a start on the fireman sam one whilst I'm waiting!!Proud wife to a soldier and mummy to two gorgeous boysDealing with our Debt Barclaycard £2022.98 RBS £1249.86 Next £183.03September Groceries £120/£102.05:( September Packed Lunches 22/6Sealed Pot Challenge #9940
