  • Ooh OrkneyStar that beret is just lovely :)

I need to get moving with my lace knitting if I want my shawl ready for when we go away in 3 weeks as I have quite a bit to do still (another 3 repeats plus edging where the stitch count is over 300) but I have so much other stuff to do this weekend as well. It's so difficult sometimes to find the time! I'd much rather knit but I can't live in a hovel!

Would love to see a pic of lace knitting when it is done! Is it fiddly, or do you get 'into' the pattern ?
It is true knitting must be balanced with other things but then it is much more fun than cleaning lol!

When I did Fair Isle/Icelandic jumpers I found it easier to knit standing up - also have all the balls of different colours in poly bags at my feet, with the necks sellotaped to just give enough room to get the wool through.

I`ve bought some wool bobbins to wind my different coloured wool on as i`m working, its so much easier :D only cost £1.25 for 10 from ebay, well worth it.
I`m knitting a 1950`s childs jacket at the moment with pictures on back and both fronts - best thing is , i have a photograph of me & my sis wearing the exact same one !!

    Marie,
Just to let you know that the new Simply Knitting magazine, will be October, has a sweater pattern with a huge reindeer on the front and a cute little one on the back. It is in the seperate booklet that comes with the magazine.
    Happy knitting!!

If anyone comes upon a pattern for a large reindeer, either on front of a sweater or somewhere else, would you let me know as I seem to be having no luck locating one.

    TIA

    Marie

There is a lovely one in the 'Irresistable Christmas Gifts to Knit' supplement that is free with the new Simply Knitting mag.

ETA - oops, beaten to it - that'll teach me to read to the end of the thread before I post!
Oh dear, here we go again.
