That's very handy to know as we're moving at the end of the month and our closest supermarket will be Mr T's so we'll be doing our shopping there!
Well I finished the ribbing on the jumper last night and started the main body part. Messed up on the first line of the picture as I didn't count properly so once the boys are having their nap I'll be undoing the last row I did and starting again!!Proud wife to a soldier and mummy to two gorgeous boysDealing with our Debt Barclaycard £2022.98 RBS £1249.86 Next £183.03September Groceries £120/£102.05:( September Packed Lunches 22/6Sealed Pot Challenge #9940 -
Oooh I'll be going and getting Simply Knitting on Thursday, knitting mags are one of my few treats
I get The Knitter on subscription as that was a birthday gift from my husband and I'm thinking of asking for a Simply Knitting subscription to match for Christmas but I'm waiting for there being a free gift I want when I subscribe!
I really do want to learn to do colourwork as I've never done it. I will have a little go at some whilst knitting my hats for the Innocent Big Knit I think as some practice then maybe I can move onto some mittens or something then a jumper
I'll post a picture of my lace when it's done Orkneystar it's not particualrly difficult BUT I have to pay attention properly as it is easy to make mistakes if I don't concentrate on the pattern.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

Finally, at the age of 53 I have started to try to learn to knit. I have joined a knitting club where they are very friendly and helpful and have just finished my first scarf.
My aim is to be able to produce 1940s type knitwear eventually.
Could anyone recomend the best knitting magazine for me to start getting. Something which deals with simple things and basics and ideally can be purchased with Mr Ts clubcard points.
Thanks.Thank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend0 -

I suppose everyone is different with that, my mum struggles with lace as well but can do the most intricate cables and colourwork. I shall overcome my fear of colour knitting and give it a go soonI'll add it to my enormous and growing projects list!

Re: what we struggle with, I love cable, moss stitch, some lacy stitches, struggle with using too many colours (up to 3 is ok!), loving getting back into using dpns and also wanting to find something to use circular needles again!Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Fair Isle is great isnt it ? all those fancy patterns but only 2 colours per row0

I've got Alice Starmore's Book of Fair Isle Knitting I just haven't gotten round to having a go at it but I know I should. I'm making little hats for the Innocent Big Knit campaign so I suppose that's an opportunity to have a go at a little bit of colourwork there.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T
