To all you sock knitters out there can i ask how the hell do you tell the needles apart? you know when it gets to needle 1 , 2 etc in patterns cos i`ve knit 1 pr up to now but struggled like mad !!
Can i number them with something ?0 -
If you are using four needles , before you start put a marker as you use the first stitch- either a different colour of wool or a stitch marker and then carry on. Then you will see where Needle one is,hope that helps. Not usually up this early so helps this helps but someone will help later if this doesnt sound clear. Also look at the knitting videos on knitting help.com/youtube0

If I'm using four needles, I put a stitch-marker between the first and second stitches on needle #1. (You could also use a small loop of wool in a contrasting colour.)0 -
The needle with the most stitches on it should be the one at the top of the foot, the two needles with less on are each side of the back of your ankle. God its hard to explain on here isnt it !0

Has anybody tried spiral socks ? Some of them on Ravelry look good and they say they are a better fit . I have a DIL with very thin legs, I might try them for her because ordinary socks fall down. Here is a link to a pattern for them - dead easy knit. Scroll down to "spiral socks" s its at the bottom.

I did a Ravelry search for "spiral socks", but there are a lot of very different patterns. The ones you've linked to above are tube-socks - i.e. they've no heel - is that what you're after?0
