Aw pity we don't seem to have the wool and sewing things in our Lidl for the foreseeable. We have some of the other things like the hiking trousers. I'll keep my eyes peeled in case we get them in a few weeks. Although really I shouldn't, I have plenty to keep me going!

I bought some of their bobbly scarf wool last year. One pack (3 balls) makes a scarf so it's really economical. It also washes well and I will be wearing mine again this winter.

Last year I bought the blue/green/white one, the black/grey/white one and one not shown here in red/pink/white. This year I'll be buying more of the blue/green as everyone commented on it, and the purple/mauve/white which I think will look lovely.
Oh dear, here we go again.

Yummymummy85 - for videos on all sorts of knitting techniques including circular needles, double pointed needles and knitting with multiple colours I think www.knittinghelp.com is FANTASTIC. The instructions are very clear and she shows the process a few times. There are also videos on youtube if you do a search. Also if you really want to use Cascade 220 (you don't have to, if they're for small children I wouldn't bother as it's hand wash only 100% wool) they sell in on a UK website called pavi yarns.

I'm still making progress on my lace shawl. There are a couple of mistakes but I noticed them way after making them and I can't be faffed with pulling back, they aren't massively noticable and should be easy enough to ignore once it has been blocked.

Not sure if NI gets the same offers as the ROI LIdls - if so, you might be in luck cos I've noticed we sometimes get them a few weeks later. But I will have to talk to myself very sternly about not buying wool that I don't need!:)

Get yourself on Ravelry and do a search - loads of stuff there, you're bound to find what you're looking for (and it's free, more often than not).

Edited to add: just did a quick search and found these socks - http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/socks-with-cars - which I am going to have to knit just because they're so cute - and this hat - http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/charlies-car-cap - and this hat - http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/jacobs-car-hat and...

A search for truck: school bus and fire truck - $3 pattern - http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/school-bus--fire-truck and this gorgous little sweater - http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/digger-jacket - and, oh, I'd better stop now, because my queue is long enough already!
