I've seen them in wool shops but I tend not to pay much attention as I tend to go for free patterns these days. But then I am not very ambitious with my knitting!

Are you looking for something in particular or just wanting to browse?

Ravelry is good for patterns, also some can be bought on Ebay and Etsy.

Join ravelry for free (and paid) knitting patterns which are easy to search through, also knitting pattern central has loads of free patterns but I find it more difficult to go through them as they aren't as nicely organised as on ravelry. You can buy knitting magazines (I especially like Simply Knitting and The Knitter which are by the same people) they contain quite a few patterns plus articles and most of them come with a free knitting related gift which is often something quite useful.

I get Simply knitting on subscription using Tesco Clubcard points so it's FREE YIPPEE!

Ooo found this on Ravelry, it's a conversion for that jumper to a cardie and it's free, but you'll have to use it in conjunction with the Jumper pattern. Probably better for me as I'm more of a cardie wearer. :o

Hi all, been awol and trying to catch up! I've got that owl jumper/cardigan bookmarked on Ravelry 'cos I thought it was soooo cute. For those who want to try something smaller, I remember there was a cupholder using the owl motif and there may have been other projects. I'm thinking that maybe a hat and scarf set wouldn't be too difficult...

  • Hi everyone,
I'm a relative beginner at knitting, I knitted a couple of cardigans for my first son when I was pregnant and haven't touched the knitting needles since! I've found a lovely pattern for some christmassy jumpers for my two boys which I'd love to make for them for christmas however after looking at the pattern I'm now confused!
The pattern asks for circular needles and double point needles. First of all what on earth are these and how do I knit with them? The jumpers are also striped so require to change colour every now and then, can anyone explain or point me to a real simple instruction of how to do this?
    Thanks in advance!

Sorry, I have no idea about circular needles and I am just beginning to get the hang of double pointed needles to knit socks. But some of the experts here will be able to advise you I'm sure.
