I was going to knit a garter stitch dishcloth but I've started the box stitch one tonight after seeing your pic.
It's growing quickly and looks good even though I'm not a very neat knitter. Definitely makes a change from all the scarves!!

Hi - I'm after a patter for a "trapper" style hat - apparently this is what they are called, even though they look nothing like the old style fur hats!
The have earflaps and plaited bits coming down from the earflaps...
Hopefully the picture above will give you an idea of what I'm after. Can anyone recommend a pattern as I have looked but not been very successful.

I had the same problem a while ago, there are lots for sale (worth trying ebay) but not many freebies. I'll check my file and be back if I find anything useful.... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
