  • Hi fellow knitters!

I have just posted a thread for 3 knitting magazines for £1 on the voucher board http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=604281 of the new 'Let's Knit' magazine that's just come out. Its a bit like 'Simply Knitting' but I thought I'd bag 3 cheap copies as it has lots of patterns in it.

Hope this is useful to someone, cheerio from Desperate Hosewife :)

    Hi Homealone
Sorry you're not having much luck - I never seem to find the type of pattern I like when browsing the free sites either. You might have to cut your losses and buy a pattern....I've had a look around McA Direct and have found this waistcoat. Not sure whether it's the type of thing your mum's looking for, but they've also got one or two other styles here or a bolero here.

I've also had a look through my patterns and haven't managed to find anything either...But I've got a huge stash of Simply Knitting magazines, so will have a look through these if that's any help?

What size needles do you need to use for your yarn?
If it is 4mm then you need a double knit pattern
    4.5mm an aran pattern
    5-6mm a chunky pattern
You don't need a special pattern for the yarn, as long as the yarn you have knits to the required tension on the suggested needles for the pattern you have (is this making sense? - sorry if it's all a bit twisted)

Hi there, try this link http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory/womens_vests.php there are loads of waistcoat patterns and you could adapt the yarn to suit eyelash if the tension is about the same :)

Hi all you fellow knitters and crocheters....I have finished my dishcloth....here it is:

    IM000608.jpg

The cloth is folded into 4, it measures approx 8.5" x 9" and used 20g of yarn....I have just weighed the rest of my yarn and I still have 780g lest...no idea what i was planning when I bought 800g of off-white cotton, in hanks at that, not even wound....it must have been a bargain.

The pattern is from www.homespunliving.blogspot.com although hers had a red stripe through. She sells these in her on-line shop in a pack of 4 no idea how much, as she had sold out last time I looked..
Off to do a few more...I'm going to use them as christmas pressies.

  • Hello!

I've just started knitting again too! I started a few weeks ago after it was suggested for relaxation to help with my illness, and I've found it relaxing and fun! I just like doing simple stitches though, and only knit scarves or squares for a blanket- anything more complicated isn't relaxing atm and makes my headaches worse, but I'm getting lots of squares done lol!

Thanks for all the links, tips and pictures posted here, it's great to see what other people have done :D
