    Hi all,

I am not a very experienced knitter either! I'm suffering with depression and have just moved house, so I thought I need to do something - so when I was in Wilkinsons last Monday I bought 3 balls of chenille type wool and some 4.5cms needles.

Tuesday night I decided to knit DD a scarf so did about 10 rows, then for the next 2 nights I just sat knitting wtching the tv for a couple of hours, then Friday am DD was wearing her scarf and loves it!

I found it very therapeutic, but would now like to try something different, does anyone have any ideas for something easy please?

could you describe the wool and band that is on it am trying to track down some that i bought in poundland and am wondering if it is the same????

To work out how much wool you would need, it may be a good idea to find out how many yards there are per ball of the specified one and then make sure you have enough of your chosen one.

    Have fun.

seen free pattern for a waist coat in chenille wool which says it needs four skeins, how much wool is in a skein?

depends on the brand- usually you can find out from the ball band or pattern details. it ranges betwee 25-100g

A bit off the current topic, but I just wanted to celebrate securing some Kidsilk Haze on e-bay, so when it arrives I'll be all set to have a go at Whatatwit's scarf pattern (but I must finish my niece's top first, otherwise I'll end up with unfinished projects all over the place going into next year!)

Which colour did you choose SeaKay?

Have I sent you the email, with my notes about the beads?

I got a pale grey, which is great because I already have some silvery beads which I think will go really well with it, and some red but I've found a place that I can get beads to match. Hopefully this will equate to a Christmas present for my sister in law, and a birthday present for my sister in February (or maybe a Christmas present if I really buckle down to it)
I had missed out on so many auctions that I bid in two at once, and wouldn't you know, that time I won both of them!
I haven't had a mail from you with notes about beads, so if you could send it then that would be most helpful

    E-mail on it's way Seakay.

I did enjoy knitting it, even though each row was long.
The bonus of that, was that I won't leave a row half done....so it didn't take too long to knit, even at doing one row per day.

Does anyone out there have a pattern for a baby hat (maybe 6months to 18 months size) that is a jester hat, i.e. the sort that starts off as a normal bobble hat shape, then turns into three sort of long thin triangles that stick up from the head. I saw some years ago on Liverpool market, knitted in baby wool and they were so sweet! I have looked and only found thick tweedy looking things that would be too rough for little heads. I should be able to convert the tension to suit double knitting but I am too thick!!!
:hello:  please play nicely children !
