That looks fabulous! Well done! Did you use the two balls of wool in the end? (I know that you did more rows than in the original). The beads show really nicely as well.

Hi Seakay, I've just been to check if you were on-line.

There is a bit of wool left, there is 6 grams left, which is a fair bit when there is only 25 grams in a ball.

I went to John Lewis on Tuesday and looked at the original. There was only 1 row of beads and it was quite holey....well a bit more than mine, so I am going to knit my next one on a bigger needle.

The beads are Gutterman 9/o or thereabouts....I think they are classed as seed beads on e-bay.

    One christmas pressie done.....

Thanks everyone for their ideas ie sourcing wool for mum 84 to knit with ,can I also say if anyone has any left over wool (pale colours ) they may like to knit some small shawls ,for the tiny angels that dont pull through ,the baby units are always glad of these apparently, soft wool no more than 4ply is what they require ,and are given to parents to take home.
When you see these charity sights asking for these little things it makes me so thankful that my children were born healthy.

How exciting. What a shame tho' you wont benefit from your hard work. You never know you might find time to do another, I'm onto the arms of my 2nd one. You might fancy a break from the rug or painting!!
    Well Done
