Have just got part of my delivery from Readicut. Very confused.......... They have enclosed a letter saying that they are out of stock of Sirdar Denim DK and that they had found stocks of Sirdar Countryside as a replacement for this. Then, they have enclosed 20 balls of Stylecraft Marrakech yarn
. The Marrakech is nice enough but is a sort of strand with tufts on so won't be able to knit either of the 2 Sirdar patterns they have enclosed with it! Not very happy about this. I'm going to see if I can find any patterns for Marrakech that I like but if not will send it back I think. Moonglow is to follow apparently.
On a more positive note, I thoroughly recommend the yarn offers on in Aldi at the moment - I am stashed up! DK 500g for 3.79 and 400g baby yarn for 2.29. Definitely worth a look if you have one near you.0 -
I called in at my local market and got 2 x 50g balls of Stylecraft Gypsy for 50p per ball which is ideal for these: http://littlegreen.typepad.com/romansock/2007/10/the-meerkats-ha.html I also popped into B&M Bargains and got a 100g ball of b&m Baby Luxe in cream for the meerkats bodies for 79p - sorted
.
Now all I have to do is finish another Rowan cardi and crochet two meerkats by next week .
Don't be surprised if you don't see me on here :rotfl:.Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

Calling all Knutty Knitters!!
I have some Noro Kureyon (sock yarn) in fab vibrant pink/blue/green. I really want to show off the yarn, and have been looking for a simple tank top pattern. Something with a lowish round neck, and perhaps a rib edging. I have looked on Ravelry, and can't see anything suitable. Do any of you lovely lot have suggestions/free patterns??
The yarn is too lovely for me to experiment with designing my own for the first time!!:D:A FLY FIRST, KNIT LATER :A0 -
Hi, All you knitters,
I'm a born again knitter and have just discovered this thread. I got to page 20 last night and this question might have been asked previously but I noticed that a book called "Finishing Techniques for Hand Knitters" by Jane Crowfoot had been recommended.
When I looked it up I found there is another book with the same title by Sharon Brant- please does anyone know which is the best buy for clarity of explanations?
Thank you.0 -
Hi I was wondering if anyone had a pattern or a link to one for knitting a cozy for a small (1 person sized) teapot? (I'm not good enough for knitting in a round and havn't tried double pointed needels yet). Thanks

I`ve just recently got back into knitting after many years but i have arthritis in my neck and that hinders me.
Has anyone else got the same problem? and how do you cope - i don`t want to stop knitting again.0 -

I don't know about arthritis in the neck, but I read somewhere about knitting needles specifically designed for use by arthritis sufferers. I'll look through my stack of magazines, and re-post if I can find it - although I am sure someone on here will be able tohelp!
Good luck, and welcome back to knitting!:A FLY FIRST, KNIT LATER :A0 -

Knitting in the round is fun - and nothing to be scared of! Give it a go! I have only recently (September 08) taken up knitting (I learnt as a child, but then stopped) and love it. Only problem is now I can't stop knitting socks....
There are lots of tea cosy patterns out there. I found this site:
http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory/cozies.php
or Ravelry - there are some fabulously funky ones available for free there - I've just looked, and am off to knit the Rosie Posie Tea Cosie!!!:D:A FLY FIRST, KNIT LATER :A0 -

If you have a look at the Knit your square to give your share thread you`ll find lots of links to free patterns - teacosies included. Some of the `girls` there are bothered by arthritis and swear by bamboo needles ( I think)Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

I have arthritis virtually everywhere including my neck and hands. I knit a lot on bamboo needles and make sure I am sitting back in a chair with adequate head support.
Bought a set of bamboo needles on ebay for about £10 (including delivery from Hong Kong) - 10 inch in length. Lovely and light. My Mum has just started using them and loves them too.0
