Happyroly I don't know whether to thank you or strangle you as now that means I'm going to have to spend twice as much money as I like both wools :rotfl: . I did actually see this wool but didn't twig that it could be used for that pattern. Just had another look and the pack wouldn't contain enough wool for the size I would need to make. Knowing me I would order 2 packs and get completely different colours :rotfl:

Thanks for that bikerchick. From what I can see in the picture of the patterns with the wool I do quite like the cardigan second from the right but I just know sods law will say I wouldn't get that one :rotfl:

Just been having a look on the internet to see if I can find cheaply enough the amount of wool I would need to make the cardigan I like after the offer on the readicut website is just short and found this on ebay.

    Bargain or what

Hi everyone, hope you've been enjoying a restful weekend! I was bitten by the clearout-my-DD's-room-again bug earlier, so have just sat down for a break! Not much knitting going on here today then!

I just wanted to ask what you good folks think about using aran wool for a baby blanket - I know it's not as soft as baby wool, but I thought it might be ok since it's not going to be directly on baby's skin. I have lots of lovely aran to use up and wondered if this was a good idea. Any thoughts?

    Hello,

I was just wondering if any one knows any good knitting books. Would like a book for my mum who is in her 50's. I would like one that has colour photos of the patterns and clothes for her. I have tried looking online but no images apart from the front cover. If anyone could help I would appreciate it.

The Peru is £2.49 per ball from Kemps and if you haven't looked at it and more to the point touched it - do try to do so. My daughter has just knitted a v-necked sweater for her OH and it is lovely. The way the colour changes - it looks like a slightly stormy sea and it feels lovely.

Kemps also have the Sirdar Click on offer at £1.69 per ball - which I've used in the past so I can say that probably any chunky wool would do - so long as you check the gauge.

    Best of luck with it.

Thanks a lot Unity, that's really good of you to post your reply.

I did feel the Peru in the shop and it did feel nice, just can't justify spending about £30 for it right at this moment in time - lol

You can join me in strangling Desperatehousewife as it was her post that first directed me to the site. I noticed there were 10 balls in the Surfing offer but thought perhaps a phone call to them might result in being able to get two bags of same colour. :D
Looking forward to receiving my parcel. This morning I bought a nice bag of double knitting and also some ribbon wool for £1.99 from charity shop.

Just rang them and they said as it's a pot luck they can't guarantee that I will get 2 packs the same colour but she said that in the warehouse they are usually sent batches of the same colour and that if I put on the order form that I need 2 packs of the same colour for my pattern I may get them but they can't guarantee it. Just went to order them and it is coming up as out of stock at the moment.

Did anyone notice if there was somewhere you could type text in when they put their order in?

We`ve been having a clear out in the attic and found some lovely dk that i had left from knitting a cardigan for dd when she was 3. She`s now 28, so i knit up a fingerless mitten, blocked it lightly and it went completely flat!!
I guessall the goodness had gone out of the wool, lol
