  • Don't know about you, but I'm hoping that in 4 weeks, I'll be knitting something a lot thinner than chunky :o That means that wool will be sitting around for months before I use it.

I placed another order on the phone for another job lot, but haven't received an order confirmation, so don't know if that one is coming either :o

Never mind, it will keep, this is where your stash comes into play!

I wanted the moonglow to knit a throw for my bed in 'feather and fan' stitch (a bit like this only 127 sts) http://www.allfreecrafts.com/knitting/feather-and-fan.shtml but I have had a rummage in my cupboard and found a cone of 'unspecified' wool I got from this mill http://www.coldspringmill.co.uk/about.htm ages ago so I'll use that instead.

BTW the mill website seriously does not do it justice, if anyone gets chance to visit its worth a day out (hubby may or may not agree...) I have been going for years and have had lots of bargains from there. They are helpful on the phone too. Some of the stuff bagged up is unlabelled but if you are like me and know your onions you can recognise what it is.

Anyway, at least I've got 4 weeks to look forward to my moonglow coming!

    HI DH

Thanks for the link to the mill, unfortunately Bradford is too far away from us. Phoned Readicut and my other order was despatched on Monday, so might arrive tomorrow :j

Well, my wool arrived, and the Pompom chunky I ordered is out of stock, so they have sent me Stylecraft Milan instead. It is nice wool, but from looking at the patterns, I don't like the way it knits up, so it will probably have to go back

They have sent a £5 voucher for me to spend in their catalogue, but doubt I will bother ordering anything else :o

Help please. Have a pattern for leg warmers that wants knitting in the round using DPNs. Have never done this before. I have a circular needle in the same size, would that be easier to use?

Just phoned Readicut about the Sirdar Surfer pot luck pack as it is showing as item sold out on my order form so phoned them to see if it would be coming back in stock. I was told that if it is saying item sold out then they wouldn't be getting it back in stock.

As least that has solved my dilema.

Might still go ahead and order the Moonglow even though that is out of stock at the moment. Has anyone order more than one pack of the Moonglow and got different patterns for each pack or have they duplicated the patterns?
    Did owe £9,951.96

You can use the circular needles if they are small enough. If the circular needles are too big to knit the handwarmers, you can use the magic loop method instead of DPNs. I prefer magic loop as you just need one long circular needle and won't be dropping any dpn's

Although been trying to do a pinwheel pattern using magic loop and it hasn't come out so very cross and given up. Hunting around for a new pattern now

but only coz I threatened them with Small Claims Court with backing of Trading Standards. Be warned - do not, under any circumstances, order anything from them, my original order was placed in August 08 and it's only now that they've coughed up what they owed me.

I got part of my order from readicut today. they replaced 2 of my choices with fun fur type stuff! its horrible. I dont know whether to send it straight back or wait for the rest of my order first. I wouldnt have minded if it was similar to what i ordered but since when does mohair like stuff look like fun fur/eyelash yarn?

Exactly the same happened to me, I parcelled it straight back up, phoned the courier and he collected it within an hour of me getting it. What you received sounds the same as the wool I got, I would never ever have ordered it.

Based on this experience, I won't bother ordering from Readicut again

If anyone was looking for the Sirdar Surfer wool I have managed to find it £1.00 a ball at this place. Not quite as good a deal as Readicut but still a good price.
