Aeshna,
Well done, that is fabulous, you must be so proud of yourself.
That's it now you will be hooked, it is great when you are wearing something you have knitted and everyone compliments you.
Your friend will love it xxYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

Have you tried Capsaicin cream (available on prescription) for your hands? I recently got some from my doc as I too have widespread arthritis. To be honest he has started me off on the mildest one which is something like 0.25% but I am going to ask for the stronger one (0.75%). You have to apply it four times a day and the effect is cumulative - and quite a few people swear by it. I use it on my back and hips - but so far I haven't used it on my hands as I wear contact lens and this stuff is made from chilli peppers! If you've ever put lenses in after chopping chillies - even though you've washed your hands vigorously with soap it can still hurt like hell.
On the other hand - if you don't wear lenses it might help with the pain in your hands.
Hope this helps. Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

and want to know if anyone knows any good sites for decent but cheap thick wool? (to knit on 10mm pins)
thanks!
You could also try Wendy Chameleon 99p per ball also from Kemps - although they have it described as Patons Chameleon http://www.kempswoolshop.com/wool_details.aspx?selectedItemID=599096127Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

Hi All
I'd really like to knit this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sirdar-Peru-Naturals-knitting-Pattern-jackets-8974_W0QQitemZ190256987700QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Crafts_Knitting_Crochet_EH?hash=item190256987700&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318#ebayphotohosting
but I wondered if there was an alternative wool that I could use that may be cheaper - if I were to knit this in the size I need for my daughter it would cost approx £30?
Thanks
Sally
The Peru is £2.49 per ball from Kemps and if you haven't looked at it and more to the point touched it - do try to do so. My daughter has just knitted a v-necked sweater for her OH and it is lovely. The way the colour changes - it looks like a slightly stormy sea and it feels lovely.
Kemps also have the Sirdar Click on offer at £1.69 per ball - which I've used in the past so I can say that probably any chunky wool would do - so long as you check the gauge.
Best of luck with it.Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

The Moonglow I got is pink and cream and has knitted up lovely, and very quickly too. Just need to sew up and do the collar and I can wear it.Married 19th May 2011 to the love of my lifeCross Stitch Cafe Member Number 44CSC Challenge - to complete LEGS by end of December

Glad to be of help! I'll keep you posted when mine arrives, it worked out around 44p a ball, I'm going to knit a throw for my bed (to wrap round my shoulders when I'm sat in bed reading)
Looking forward to seeing which colour I get, they are all nice.
I noticed a hooded cardi pattern in one of the simply knitting mags and it called for 24 balls for 34inch chest (just to give you an idea) it was a long cardi though so you might not need that many for a garment.Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000
