I spotted this vintage tea cosy but it is very expensive and would prefer to knit it.

Have searched a few sites trying to find a similar pattern, as it says based on a vintage design, but no luck.
    Does anyone recognise the pattern?
    Thank you.
    £48?

    Are they mad?

  • I think they must be!
I really like the design though and hope someone has/has seen a similar pattern.
  • At the beginning of this year quite a few on this thread were determined to make inroads into their wool stash. I wonder how everyone is doing now that the year is drawing to a close.

I did really well, I finished three cardigans for myself and then received news of a baby expected in the family and set about knitting an assortment of items in my bits of pink and blue and white. I have done a pink and white baby blanket using scraps and also a blue and white one and various matinee coats, cardigans and jackets.

I felt really pleased with the progress I had made with my stash, but I'm afraid this project in like the Forth bridge.

THE SALES HAVE STARTED EARLY and with my weak will I bought two 500grm packs of wool so off I go again trying to get my stash sorted.

Am I the only one, or do all knitters do this?

    Bella.

    Hi Bella

You've done so well if you've only just bought wool. I discovered this thread last week and am currently up to page 32 (the half way mark) which is last January and you'd only just started your pink blanket.
I started knitting, after a long break, in September after reading 'Divas don't knit', but after visiting the knitting & stitching show in October my stash is building up already.
Have bought a pack of eyelash wool and included a set of 6mm needles for DD (20) for Christmas. She's very creative and I hope this will encourage her to pick up the needles.
Only managed one knitted Crimbo present, a handbag for an old friend, but plan more for next year.
    Happy christmas everyone

  • bikerchick - I have to come clean and admit to buying some white wool in the summer because I wanted to do a crocheted top and also one each of blue, pink and peach 50g balls of wool to add to my selection of baby clothes, the girly ones being now on there way to their new owner who was born last Thursday. I also succombed to a ball of yellow with which I am doing hats for premature babies to send to Loving Hands.

    Must knit:D

Like Happyroly I would like to knit a tea cosy as we got given a teapot for Christmas. I have found this free pattern on the internet but was wondering if anybody else knew of any simple patterns. I'm just looking for a simple design that is quick to make and will keep my tea warm.

    Anyone any other suggestions?

Lynseydee, this seems very easy, especially if you omit the roses.
