http://s166.photobucket.com/albums/u...t=PICT0020.jpg
I have made this cushion cover for my niece who is expecting her first baby and has a nursing chair already.
I crocheted the panel then attached it to a linen cushion from Drapers. I have a blue 1 or some pink flowers to add as we dont know if it is a little boy or girl yet.Try and do a good deed every day.0 -
Thanks Maytaurus - I'll have a look.0

Nice to see this thread coming up again. I suppose as the darker nights set in the knitting needles will be coming out again. I must say with the cool wet summer we have had mine have never been put away.
I had designated this year stash busting year and have done really well. I have completed three cardigans for myself and done a bit for the Loving Hands Charity. I need to do a lot more for them but at the moment it is on hold as I use up all my pink, blue and white left overs for an expected new arrival in the family.
Quite a few of you on this thread were talking about stash busting early in the year, I wonder how you have all got on?

Is there a link to a site where I can decide if I can substitute one yarn for another?
I found a pattern from one of the links at the start of this thread but it uses an expensive yarn and I would like to substitute something else.0 -
Hi Janey - I've just found this. http://www.needlepointers.com/ShowArticles.aspx?NavID=937If you scroll down the page it gives info about substituting different yarns for Patons, Lion and Lily. Some of the big name brands are so expensive now but there are some very good budget ranges around.
There's some useful info and advice here, too http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter03/FEATwin03TBP.html

I knit dishcloths!
DH laughs at me, but the ones knitted in a loopy 'dishcloth' stitch scrub brilliantly. It also doesn't take any effort in front of the TV but makes me feel more virtuous!
I got some bright red cotton v cheap, and they look quite stylish...
