  • My mum used to have a knitting machine and from memory .....

If you double it up you get 4-ply and if you double it again (i.e. 4 x 2 ply) you should have double knitting

do you knit 2 ply into dishcloths --- must take ages--- thanks anyway. Any other ideas
I would knit it double or triple strands and it would knit up quickly and be a good texture for cleaning.

    Hi chalky,

I've added your query to the knitters thread where the regulars there will be able to help.

Hi ladies ( and gents too possibly?!),
I very rarely post as you can see but I'm hoping to pick everybody's brains.
I am looking for a pattern for a Christmas Jumper for my boyfriend, the really cheesy kind that we all used to get when we were small. I have tried searching the internet but don't really know what I'm looking for! If anyone has a link or just an idea of how to find one, I would be exceedingly grateful! Many many thanks! :xmassmile
  • Hey, I just found this thread, it is great! :j

I think if you want a really cheesy pattern for a jumper then the American sites are probably your best bet! I think there is one called freepatterns.com? Worth a try!

    Hi everyone

For those of you knitting dishcloths, I've just found this pattern which incorporates a scourer - it's quite clever!

Has anybody bought any of the yarn advertised on Ebay from China? I just wondered how it compares with wool from the UK.
I have also seen some from Turkey.
  • Hi, My 10 year old daughter would like to knit herself some mittens, does anyone have a really easy pattern she can follow.

    Thankyou!
It's the start of the no takeaway challenge.
